SSB, an Irish Pub, beer, and a Tigger...

I had the pleasure of meeting SSB tonight!

My husband organized a work "happy hour" and we invited SSB too! It was a small group, but we had a merry time. SSB did not wear the signature large shoes and wild, bushy, red hair, however, he did seem a tad evil...

Fortunately there was no livestock (horses) nearby. And alas, I left my camera home so I did not document this historical meeting with any photos.

All in all it was a great evening. SSB is quite a character and can tell a great story. He had us laughing most of the evening. It was great to meet him after all this time!

Must have been an IMPOSTER SSB!
The real Bob has big feet, no hair, and is definitely not evil !
Of course, perhaps the SSB I met was the IMPOSTER!!! hehehe LOL

Iluvorlando -- are you going to DIScon? When I move over there, we are going to have to have some meets. It seems like only a few of the locals participate in the meets that I see posted on these boards. What's that about?

I had the pleasure of meeting SSB this week, too! What a friendly guy! (good taste in music too ) Now I'm looking forward to DIS-con!

I will be here, but I don't have an AP to get into all the parks and I can't afford to be "offical". I would love to particpate in meets, but I never hear about them.

GASP! How can you not have an AP and live in Orlando (at least a seasonal pass)? Hey, I'm not official either. And there are some meets at resort restaurants. I am going to try to make the karaoke meet at the Swan (or Dolphin?). You could also do one of the MVMCPs. I will have to meet you at some point, hopefully during DIS-con!

Glad you had a wonderful meeting with SSB...Zurg and I met SSB for the first time during our Halloween trip and he was very nice...can't wait to see him at DIS CON....

No grasshopper pictures at the meet. Although SSB did confess that he enjoyed chasing down hoppers with his mower when he was a young lad.

I wish we could make it to DATW, but DH is taking classes on Tuesday and Thursday nights. I think we will try to attend the Rose and Crown meet though (if that's ok).

DocRafiki - SSB told us about your meet. He spoke very highly of you! I think we should do a locals meet one of these days. We love House of Blues - so maybe we can have a get together there?

To tell the truth I didn't even look at SSB's feet, so they could be tiny or large. I suppose a tall fellow like him would need larger feet in order to keep his balance. I was expecting someone with glasses - but he was wearing contacts. Very nice looking guy!!! And he's got a very hearty laugh, which is always a good thing in my book.

What a very nice thread!!! Wish that SSB was really half as nice or funny as professed here.... HAHAHAHA!

SSB has been remiss about posting about his recent meetings ... and there have been some GREAT ones over the last two weeks!!!!

The ZURGs were so kind, informative, and appreciative of good beer... quite a fine time with them. Luckily, they spotted me during Debi's fave, the "Tapestry of Nations" parade! SSB is still saving the "Black Voodoo" beer that Mr. Zurg was kind enough to give to me... may have to crack it open during DIS CON....

GREAT time meeting the famous DocRafiki after "Indigo Girls" concert at Hard Rock Live. Even with very loud background music later, we were able to have spirited and interesting conversation about lots o' topics. A very nice person.

Then, TigH was so nice to invite SSB across town... as we had failed to hook up at Disney after a couple of tries. Very cool Irish pub, next to a lemonade stand past downtown. TigH spotted SSB first, but then I recognized her DH from far across the way, also. Really cool how via pictures and websites (they sport a fantastic website) you feel like you KNOW, and certainly recognize people without ever having met them in person. We had a lot of fun talking, and sharing a couple of nice beers. What a fantastic time.

SSB certainly game for any later "local" meets and meeting any DIS'er anytime that I can. Can't wait to see the Zurgs, DocRafiki, and TigH and DH sometime again... very, very soon.

We have a FANTASTIC family, here on the DIS!
