Are these easy to cancel? Do you have to pay anything up front or just if you join? When do you cancel after you receive the books?

Yes, they are easy to cancel. The times I have done it, I paid up front with a credit card for the books (I think $8 or 9). The books come 4-5 weeks later. Then you can call and cancel the program. I never asked for a refund of my money, because my kids always enjoy the new books. I enjoy doing the Scholastic offers- I saw a Yu Gi Oh one in my kid's school scholastic flyer; I'm hoping maybe Sunshine can offer it because my sons would LOVE it.
