Day 4 - Thursday 15th Dec

Today we were checking into Port Orleans French Quarter.

The Comfort Inn is a nice hotel, especially the free wireless internet access that we had. The hotel is nicely situated just off International Drive not too close to the I 4 that you lose sleep. The free breakfast is ok, nothing spectacular but enough to start the day.
The negative points of the hotel is the walls are paper thin and we had a person in the next room that was really loud! Also the size of the beds, we are just not used to sleeping in a double bed its way too small.
Very friendly hotel and we would stay there again. Checked out of Comfort Inn after we had breakfast.

Decided to take a chance and try checking into Disney early, I think it was 9am.

Got a lovely CM who got us a 1st floor room in building No. 1 that was ready now. I asked her if there was anything available in building No. 5...there was but the room was not yet ready. She gave us our room number which was 5233, told us to call back about 2pm to see if it was ready.

Back at home we had bought some Quick and Casual Meal vouchers from Orlando Fun tickets, as we were international buyers they would not deliver them to our home address but they had to be delivered to the hotel. We booked them when we were going to stay at Pop Century. I did email the company when we changed and they said that they would be waiting for us at POFQ instead. So after we got our room No. I asked if there was any letters of sorts for us? The CM then went into the back and brought out a envelope, I said thank you very much and she told me to check that they were all there.
We went over and sat in the lobby and opened the envelope, there were no meal vouchers but 4 passes to somewhere else. We were confused to say the least. Back to check in where we asked if they knew what they were for…they said that they were part of our package and that they were valid for either wide world of sports or a game of mini golf. This was a nice surprise as we were not expecting anything like this. We were going to have to drive down to Pop Century to see if they were there.
We decided to go back to a different CM where she found the meal vouchers and a room that was available now same block just a couple of rooms away from original room 5321 We have a room and we don’t have to drive to POP While DH was sorting everything out I went to the food court and bought 3 refillable mugs. $38 later we had matching mugs.

Back to the car and then I discover that we were not given a parking permit! We will get one later. I really can’t be bothered right now to go back.
Find the room which is quite away from the car park, but it’s a lovely day today high of 77 and partly cloudy. Perfect!

Then back to the room and relaxed, DD watch Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and then I went to get DD1 and DBF so as they could buy 1 day hoppers for tomorrow. We already had ADR for Crystal Palace breakfast for 9:30am so I thought I would ring and add them to the reservation. I eventually got through on the phone in the room to be told that our table would not seat 5 and there was no other times at all for breakfast. Ok I said I would have a think about it and ring back later. 20 mins later we decided to try and change the reservation from breakfast to dinner. So I waited on the phone for a good 15-20 mins and eventually got through to a nice CM. I asked her if I could add to the existing reservation for tomorrow morning and she said sure no problem! I thanked her very much for her time. I was a happy bunny once again.

So went to the front desk and ordered two 1 day hoppers $100.91 each! It’s a shame that they weren’t here for longer as these are not good value for money IMO! They leave on Saturday so there is no point to getting tickets for longer.

Tickets sorted we then decide to have a walk around the resort. The pool is quite busy it’s a lovely warm evening. The resort looks really nice with all the chirstmas decorations and lights lighting up the walkways.
Back to the room to sort out the plans for tomorrow. DD1 and DBF are doing all 4 WDW parks in a day. We said they could do it. DD1 has been many times before, but this is her DBF first time.
We have a rough plan between us, MK first after breakfast they should go and do Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Splash Mtn, Space Mtn, Pirates of the Caribbean, Buzz Lightyear. Then onto Epcot to do Soarin’, Test Track and Mission Space. Next MGM studios for Tower of Terror, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, Star Tours, Muppet 3D and Lights Motor Action and maybe the Back Lot Tour.
If they have any time left goto Animal Kingdom and ride Dinosaur. As you can tell they only really wanted to do the ‘big’ rides.
We also said that we would meet up and watch Fantasmic.
DH took them back to their hotel while I sorted out the clothes for tomorrow, I don’t know whether to believe these weather men…the forecast was rain today and there has been none of it, tomorrow they say its going to be highs of 65!

So that’s the plan for tomorrow, we’ll have to wait and see how it turns out.

Tomorrow sounds exhausting! Like the look of the hotel

Lovely photos of the Hotel.Busy day for DD and DBF good on them..go for it :cool1:

:)

Lovely report again and I appreciate you taking the time to post your photos. It is lovely to see what you are talking about. I hope your DD1 and her boyfriend managed to get to do all those rides. I know when I was there in July the lines for Soarin were pretty bad unless you went first thing in the morning but then it may have been a busier time than when you went.
