Day 17 – Wednesday 28th December

Today is my birthday;

I was really not looking forward to spending today in the UK that was the main reason for booking this particular trip.
I woke up at 6:30am as I think my body clock was stuck at that time! No chance of getting a lie in then. DH wished me happy birthday. I already had my present it was a new diamond wedding and engagement ring.
Next through was DD with her present, bless her she had kept them a secret from me. It was a DVD Meet the Fockers. She had also blew some balloons up and decorated the room with happy birthday things, no mention of the 40th though. Thank you DD.

Next they brought in my Birthday cake

It was scrummy, chocolate icing and chocolate cake. Not sickly at all, just what I needed a chocolate fix! First thing on the morning too. Lovely.

It was decided that we would go to MK.

What a big mistake, it was so busy!
DH went and got me a birthday badge, which he made me wear.
There were people everywhere, we did try to take a picture but the tree was in the way!

I think we went to BTMR to get fastpasses which was a good idea, as the wait was 40min. Fastpasses in hand we walked passed splash it looked busy, didn’t catch the time though.

Over to Pirates of The Caribbean. 25 min wait here, that would fall in nicely for our fastpasses for BTMR. It seemed longer than 25 min wait, but we were on at last.
MK was just too busy.
We were just in time for out fastpasses to start so onto BTMR, the standby line was 60 min wait. We had to wait about 15 min in the fastpass line. Not bad! Better than 60!

While in line there was a train being washed, there must’ve been some little excited person that got a little too excited!
There was a parade starting at 12:30 and it was 11:55, we found a spot on Main St with a white rope in front of us, no body was allowed to sit in front of this rope so we thought we would have a great view.

Didn’t stop people trying to sit here though! They did get moved on when the parade started.
It was a lovely parade, different from the others.

After the parade we decided it was just too busy and we couldn’t be bothered to wait in the lines. We opted to eat at Beaches and Cream. Across to the Yacht club resort and a lovely 70 min wait to be seated. We asked for a booth again and was told that she would put us down for one, is this de ja vu or what!
I sat in the sun over looking the pool. It was a lovely day, nice and hot. B&C was busy as was everywhere else.
I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else.
70 min later our pager went off and we were shown to a …….. Table, why!! So we kindly stated that we had requested a booth, hence waiting so long. They were talking amongst themselves and I overheard one of them saying that there was nothing wrote down about the request, I said that there was, this is the only time that I have been made to feel really uncomfortable anywhere on WDW property. There was infact a B right by our name on the front at the podium.
We were shown to a booth in about 5 min after that.
Again we were made to feel very uncomfortable not by the waitress who served us but by the people that seat you. They made a point of asking everybody else how they were enjoying their meals etc and making small talk with the other people that they were seating but never bothered with us. I had my badge on to so they could tell it was my birthday!
Nevertheless I had a lovely meal, double cheeseburger and onion rings and a fantastic desert. No way jose!

Again we waddled out of there, this time DH had over eaten and was in agony with his tummy!
We had to go back to the room as we had ran out of memory card for the camera and the battery needed charged for the camcorder.
Back we went and chilled for a few hours, let our food digest.
We set off for the GF for our Wishes cruise at 8pm. We got there a little early so had a wander round. Sat and took some photos etc.
day17153.jpg

It was time for our cruise, I saw a boat decked out with balloons etc but never thought that was mine, as I had not ordered a ‘Birthday’ one.
day17160.jpg

However it was for me, it was a nice surprise. Robert was our driver and a very nice one he was too. He told us little bit of trivia that were interesting. Don’t ask me what they were as I cant remember them.
Wishes were fantastic as always, but my camera had been playing up and I never got a good photo. I think I need a new camera! Typical, did manage to get a video though.
I think we were lucky that we got a pretty warm night and that it was dry. We had a lovely evening and had a great cruise.

After the cruise Robert then presented me with an honorary membership to the Mickey Mouse Club and a pin, from Mickey Mouse himself as it was my birthday. What a fantastic way to end the day.
I was absolutely shattered by now, so it was straight in the car and home, I never even had another piece of my cake I was that tired and still stuffed from dinner. I did however do some washing and packing.
A brilliant birthday one that the memories will last a life time. Only trouble is going to how to spend other birthday’s now!

Happy 40th Michelle!

Sounds like a great day, that dessert looks delicious!
