Squirts, Shirts, & Flirts...The Legend Continues (TR started 6-23)

it's a tie for me between the pan (because he never grows up)....

peter-pan.jpg

and my girl alice (because everyone around her is mad and i can relate)....

alice-disney-sitting.jpg

if those aren't proper "characters" according to candi's theory (which i can totally understand her thinking on this), then pluto would be my favorite (because i'm such a dog lover and i love how he is mickey's faithful companion, plus his singing/howling during any of the shows at WDW is just adorable)!

pluto.gif

so cute that parker loves donald! :goodvibes

Chapter 6. Parkers official favorite character.

There is a time in every childs life or every adults life when they pick there favorite character.

I am not sure exactly when mine came, i have always had a love for the duck, i think in part because of his personality he can be grumpy one minute, then turn right to love stuck with his daisy in the blink of an eye.

i love his attitude and his voice and his "donaldness" that just makes him him.

my wife she is a big fan of belle, she loves her dress her story and just everything about her.

note: she just informed me that belle is her favorite, but she considers her real, and not a character that minnie is her favorite "character" because she is so proper, petite and cute.
:lovestruc

now i dont really think my parents have chosen there favorite yet, but i will try and get there favorite on this trip.

Parker, he has loved the characters his whole life, on his first trip, he smiled and loved em all, he tried to grab ariels clam shell. got kisses from the princesses, so i could understand if those would turn into his favorite.

but the last week has been very interesting around here, i have been excited and i would say not shocked at his choice of his favorite character.

When he gets in our car, he says this characters name, when he watches disney cartoons he says this characters name.

The name you ask is

Doonnn dooold

that would be donald for those of you who do not speak or understand infant.

me i still speak infant so i get it right away.

:donald:

the first time i heard him say it i was like huh did he just say what i thought he said hun

she said yep, he says it every time we get in the car and he wants to watch his donald movie.

mickey mouse club house comes on you ask him the names of the characters...and he does not say the names of any of them, you ask him who that is "refering to donald"

and you get doonnn dooold.

just when you think a child can not tug at your heart anymore.

you learn that his favorite character is yours, he gets so excited and runs around the room and dances when he is on.

now i realize that he could change it when he grows up or it could change when we go on our trip, but for now his favorite is that lovable duck and that is okay by me.

so go ahead and let us know what or who your favorite character is.

this update wont have any trivia facts in it, because i want you guys to respond with the question this time.

I am a Tink Gal !! But if she doesn't count as a character it would be Minnie !!!:thumbsup2

Well for a noncharacter it would be Snow White - because that's the first Disney movie my mother took me to see and now that my mother has passed away it's very special to me even more so. For a character it would have to be Pooh

hope everyone had a good weekend, ours was good, nice to finally relax, and try and forget about the trial we were on.

did not get out of there till 9:30 friday night.

starting to get more sleep now, amazing how much your mind goes over things when there is alot at stack.

thanks for all the comments while i have been absent this week

will catch up with everything tomorrow some time.

night all

hope everyone had a good weekend, ours was good, nice to finally relax, and try and forget about the trial we were on.

did not get out of there till 9:30 friday night.

welcome to my world. :lmao:

hope it wasn't too bad of a trial. sometimes they're interesting, sometimes sad and sometimes just incredibly boring.

Hey Dan,
I was on a jury a few years ago. It was a mentally taxing week. I am glad it is over for you and you can get back to normal.:thumbsup2

Im back and caught up with everyone else, so i can continue on here.

It was a very long week, i do have to say it takes a toll on you, very stressful...It was an atempted murder, arson, case...you find yourself thinking about it befor eyou fall asleep and right away when you wake up.

I thought it was very interesting, but hope i dont get called back for a while. We ended up not getting out of there until 9:30 friday night.

now onto some comments....and what you have all been waiting for some trivia.

Hi Dan - I was reading Jordan's Pre-TR and saw that you started one too so I hooped on over here to get caught up. We are staying at FW in December 2010 but we are renting a RV from someone here on the DIS. We are looking into buying a RV this summer or next year to start our own camping adventures as a family. Last summer we went once with the kids and in a tent - the kids loved it. I enjoy camping too but have always been in a tent. Now we get to live in luxury LOL
you are going to love the FW and everything to do there.

so relaxing and fun. :welcome: is in order.

hope you get alot of good information from our trip.

Great story Dan. I did get a little choked up...Hope all is well in jury land.

My favorite character......I should say characters...chip and dale...cuz they're nuts like me.:thumbsup2 Goofy, crazy, zany and always up for a good time.
chip and dale are a close second for me, evenn though they did try and steal my wife.

Chip off the ole block. So sweet.
my wife is lucky she gets 2 of us in the house.
:goodvibes

That is very sweet! I don't know who my favorite character is..I'm equal opportunity, I guess. I would have to say the character I'm most like is "Lady" though, from Lady and the Tramp..you know..all sweet and innocent. :rolleyes1:
i like her too, very proper and graceful.

Good luck with Jury duty this week

That is so sweet he is the same as his dad :goodvibes

My favorite face character is Snow White, because we both have same quiet voice:goodvibes

My favorite regular character is Goofy, because he is well..... Goofy of course :rotfl:
never really got into snow white.

i have to watch that movie again.

I'd have to say Goofy, not sure why.

I remember the days when DW and I were the only ones who could understand our infant kids and had to translate. One time my dad asked my son his favorite song and he said, "the whoa whoa song". My dad said, "oh, row row row your boat"? My son said "No!" and broke into Paul McCartney's "My Love" -- "whooaaa whoa whoa whooooa, whooaaa whoa whoa whoooooa, my love does it gooood."
yep, ours is the same, people dont always understand what he is saying, and he changes his names for stuff so often that sometimes i dont know what it is now.

almost daily it changes what he calls our dog or what he says to get him to come to him.

very good for knowing that song when young...i still dont know it.

So sweet!

Favorite character - face character, definitely Belle - she reads, she's French, brunette, what's not to like? (Note - I'm not French, I just harbor a burning desire to move to France some day).

I'm not sure on the non-face character. Probably a cross between Eeyore and Tigger. Does that make me bipolar? :confused3
nope just means you have a thing for tail(s)
:rotfl:

tigger bouncing on his tail and eeyore always loosing his.
:lmao:

Awww...how sweet that he loves Donald just like you!! YAY!!!!! That will make for some really cute memories on your next trip!!

Well as far as face characters go my favorite is Aurora (Sleeping Beauty) and my other favorite character would be Goofy...I just love his O'Gosh...and his big shoes!!! He's such a hoot!
i never liked aurora until our last trip and her interation with parker, now she is okay in my book.

he is very funny on mickey mouse clubhouse as well.

Don't have a favorite per se, but if we can go with who we are most like it'd have to be: B

Before my coffee in the morning, I'd have to go with Yzma.

After coffee and some DISsing time, Belle- I've got a pretty cool head and can think creatively about finding solutions to tough spots.

While homeschooling the kids??: Dutchess from Aristocats. She was very diligent in the training of her children. That was her life.

While making dinner: Snow White. Ask my family; I like to whistle while I work.

After dinner until 12 or so (bed): Jacques the shrimp from Nemo's tank. He liked to hide in his hole a lot and catch up on the cleaning- dishes, laundry, etc...

So, can we have more than one??
i am wondering if there is a head scratchin smiley?

:scratchin thats close enough i guess.

no that is okay to have more than one.

i like alot and have many that are very close to donald, but he still wins out.

i am also scared to give you a situation and ask you who you favorite character would be then.

I guess my screen name says it all: I love Belle! She is smart, she loves to read, she appreciates inner beauty and she is sweet. I think she is a perfect princess. Oh, and her dress is beautiful!

It is cute that Parker likes Donald too! I am sure when he sees him in person he is going to be soooo excited!
alot of you ladies love belle, i did not realize she is so popular.

i hope he loves him and wants to run up to him and give him a hug.

That was the most precious story. Made me cry happy tears. :D

My fav character was/is/always will be Mickey Mouse. My sons favourites are Mickey and Lightening McQueen (biggest 2 year old car freak I've ever seen...he has ALL of the cars and can name them all)! :D
there are many more thinks that bring you to tears when you have a child.

very good for 2 years old, he would love parkers bedroom and all his cars stuff in there.

Interesting!

And SO sweet about Donald!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm with your wife. Belle is the Bomb!
another belle lover.

candi got the belle snow glob with some of the characters from the movie with her for christmas.

Dan, your story about Parkers favorite...well, it made me mist up. :sad1: It's so sweet.

Liesa....:rotfl: I love it! I love that you have different one's, I too have different one's but there is only one that really tugs at my heart most. I'll tell that in a sec.

I love seeing everyone's favs. I feel like I've gotten to know people just a little bit better because of it.
Side note: If your looking for a really great game to play, I suggest the game Apples to Apples. It's a great for family and friends, a game where you have to know the audience your playing to in order to guess correctly. It's fun to play with people you don't know well and want to know better, side note over....
OK, favorites....Well, Since I was a little girl I liked Pooh, Piglet and Tigger, and who didn't love Mickey! The pretty Cindy and Aurora, but then what little girl doesn't love themselves a good princess. princess:
Mary Poppins had a place in my heart when I was a young teenager, I realize that sounds funny but you see when I was in Jr. High I came down with Mono and I was out of school for two months (I was pretty bad for a while). My mom's friend had a VCR (not many people had them then) and brought it over so I could watch movies he would rent for me. I saw both Mary Poppins and Gone With The Wind for the very first time, they were the first movies I had ever seen on a VCR. :cloud9: Mary right then and there became my fav. We ourselves didn't own a VCR until I was in High School.

Once I was officially an adult (I was 18 when Little Mermaid came out) and the new string of Disney movies came out I became a big Ariel fan. Then Pixar came around I fell in love with.....this is hard, to come up with all of these and not confuse your fav movie with your fav characters... if you asked favorite movies.... :faint: this would be a whole other
story. Ok, where was I....Crush and Dory, and last but certainly not least...Tinkerbell! She became my favorite the very first time I went to DL (I was 18 years old and was totally in awe of everything Disney from the second I stepped "thru the curtains"). I remember it well...my family and I stood to watch wishes infront of the Castle and I had no idea what I was in for. :goodvibes As the beginning of the show started and I saw Tink Fly across the sky for the first time! I started to cry and thought I would never love anything as much as I loved that moment ever again. :cloud9:

def. not going to ask you about movies.

:lmao:

just kidding i might bring that question up in down time.

Hi, Dan! Thought I'd come over and attempt to get caught up on your PTR...not quite there yet, but I'm closer!

I did start at the end before I went back to the start, though, and the story about Parker is great!! Will has decided that Mickey is his absolute favorite, which makes DH's day as he's his favorite as well. The other two change daily, I think. I've been partial to the Fairy Godmother since I was her in our high school production of R&H's Cinderella (hence the screen name). She's awfully hard to find on merchandice/souveniers, etc, though.

Good luck with the jury duty...doesn't sound like much fun!
i think you are the first person who i have seen anywhere that has said she is your favorite, very nice and very different.

Stopping by to say howdy pahd-nuh and see if you had said anything about how jury drudgery is going.

Howdy. How's jury duty going?
have other comments up top.

i think it is something that everyone should do once, but hope i dont get one like that again.

AWWWWW so sweet!!!

My favorite character is Dory. Not that I am like her per say, but my daughter really is like her, shiny objects distract her easily

I love Dory's innocence and willingness to help. But alas , Dory doesn't do meet and greets.:sad2:

Ariel is another favorite- funny for the same reason. She reminds me of my daughter. When I am in Voyage of the Little Mermaid I actually getty misty during the "part of your World " song.

This part is what gets me

Wanderin' free
Wish I could be
Part of that world

My daughter has always been the quirky one, not really fitting in. Now she has a good circle of friends but in elementary school she was the odd one.
So I guess I equate that song with her wanting to fit in while growing up.

Darn - misty again. Sorry
i think it was just dust in your eye.

dory is very cool, i wish she would come out for pictures somewhere.

I've at least read all of the main posts now, and some of the in-between.

I got the same book about Disney - isn't it cool? Lots of fun tidbits. I'm reading Spinning Disney's World right now. It's by a guy who's an official Disney legend - he has a window on Main Street. He covered the Disneyland opening day, went to work for Disney in their PR department, and continued to work through the openings of WDW and all its parks and Disneyland Paris. Really interesting!

BTW, I've come to the conclusion that my little guy's favorite character isn't Mickey anymore, much to my DH's disappointment. It's now Toodles....you know, "OH TOOOOOOODDLLLLEESSS!" from Mickey Mouse Clubhouse? The kid goes nuts now every time it's on the screen.....:confused3

Hope jury duty is about over for you by now!
i wonder if they have any toodles toys i have never looked for them.

and :welcome:

since i did not do it on your other post.

so cute that parker loves donald! :goodvibes
glad you understnad her theory on characters.

i would think nothing else for my little man, he is like his daddy in so many ways.

I am a Tink Gal !! But if she doesn't count as a character it would be Minnie !!!:thumbsup2
i think tink would count, candi loves her as well.

very sweet about snow white. i think alot of disney characters have a special meaning to people when they think about it.

welcome to my world. :lmao:

hope it wasn't too bad of a trial. sometimes they're interesting, sometimes sad and sometimes just incredibly boring.
it had its interesting parts and boring parts, the phone records part started interesting, then went really boring, when they repeated the same thing over and over for about 2 hours to drive home there points on where or where he wasnt based on his phone calls.

Hey Dan,
I was on a jury a few years ago. It was a mentally taxing week. I am glad it is over for you and you can get back to normal.:thumbsup2

takes a toll onyou, always thinking about it from when you are awake to when you go to bed.

Trivia catchup time.

since i have not posted them in a while, i was hoping to post a bunch today but ran out of time,
hope you enjoy the ones i have for today.

Liberty Square is where we start today:

when you look at the 2 digit numbers and put an 18 in front of them, it will represent they year that style of house was popular

and the dat over the door to the hall of presidents is the year the constitution was ratified.

the shutters on the windows appear to be hanging sideways, but during the war, they would take the metal from the hindges and replace them with leather straps.

which would weaken over time and cause the shutters to hang down

the metal plate in the walkway between frontier land and frontierland symbolizes the bridge of the mississippi river, even though there was no metal at that time on bridges.

sorry i had more but only time to post these today

i leave you with a trivia challange question.

the dog which symbolizes one of walts childhood dogs is represented in which three rides

first hint, the dog in carossel of progress...name the other two places this dog shows up in the world.

Oooo, oooo! ----> Pirates of the Caribbean?

Hmmm, that is a tough one (especially since I have never ridden COP). I am going to take a wild guess on this and say Peter Pan and Pirates.:confused3

Favorite character Pluto :lovestruc
It's my Dad's favorite too so I guess good things do run in families!!

As for your trivia question....I am going to say POTC for one....pretty sure about that one....hmmmm I will have to think about this for a bit!

Tracy

i will never understand why attorneys don't get that "less is more." when a jury has been sitting there for days and keeps hearing the same thing over and over again, they just get ANNOYED! (and so do the judges and court reporters! )

no clue about your trivia question. i'll guess and say spaceship earth and pirates of the caribbean.

Glad to hear you're back to a normal routine now that the jury duty is over.

I'm going to refrain from the trivia questions, since I have the book....:rolleyes1

I'm glad your back Dan. I've said it once before and I'll say it again I totally love the trivia!! I think it's already been said, but I know the two places besides COP, is Pirates, he's holding the keys, and the big silver ball thing....Space Ship earth! <major brain fart there for a sec> At least the dog use to be there...with the new changes it might not be anymore, I think the dog is in the Roman area??? :confused3 Well, any way I'm pretty sure that's where they are. :thumbsup2

Oooo, oooo! ----> Pirates of the Caribbean?
you are right on that one mister...but what about your second attraction.

Hmmm, that is a tough one (especially since I have never ridden COP). I am going to take a wild guess on this and say Peter Pan and Pirates.:confused3
pirates is right, peter pan is not listed as the other one, but if you really look at the dog in the opening bedroom scene he does look the same, but they do not list him as being the same dog.

Favorite character Pluto :lovestruc
It's my Dad's favorite too so I guess good things do run in families!!

Tracy
pirates is right.
i think kids have a tendency to lead toward parents favorites at least early some change and some stay with that choice...hope he stays with his choice.

i will never understand why attorneys don't get that "less is more." when a jury has been sitting there for days and keeps hearing the same thing over and over again, they just get ANNOYED! (and so do the judges and court reporters! )

no clue about your trivia question. i'll guess and say spaceship earth and pirates of the caribbean.
the def attorny was def. less is more, he would get his point across and say no more questions, we liked him, and respected him.

pirates is right, and spaceship is not...where were you thinking on spaceship earth?

Glad to hear you're back to a normal routine now that the jury duty is over.

I'm going to refrain from the trivia questions, since I have the book....:rolleyes1
thanks, hope the trivia is not boring you since you have the book.

i have another trivia book i am going to start up when this one is done.

Glad you're back Dan.
POTC....HM?
we have a winner folks, good job jordo, bonus question where is the dog located in HM?

I'm glad your back Dan. I've said it once before and I'll say it again I totally love the trivia!! I think it's already been said, but I know the two places besides COP, is Pirates, he's holding the keys, and the big silver ball thing....Space Ship earth! <major brain fart there for a sec> At least the dog use to be there...with the new changes it might not be anymore, I think the dog is in the Roman area??? :confused3 Well, any way I'm pretty sure that's where they are. :thumbsup2
ahh the roman area, do not remember him in that scene but i could be wrong he could have been used there.

Jordan got the right answer....but does anyone know where the dog is at in the HM scene.

the trio of dogs is in fact in HM in the graveyard scene along with the carosell of progress dog, and the Pirates dog

Todays trivia update.

there is a framed document near one of the exits in pecos bills, that you can find his code of the west, offering advice to men on what not to do in front of women and children.

there are 3 full size bathtubs at MK, one is on thunder mountain,

what are the other 2 locations

the second one is easy, but the third one is a little bit of a brain teaser

hint: it may not be used as an actuall bathtub but could be used for something else.

when you enter the pirates ride, go to the right side.

just before the turnstiles where you board the boat, look for a tunnel to the right hand side.

if you listen closely you will hear pirates digging, and may even here them talking.

when you exit pirates look at the ground, does it look like footprints of davy jones.

before you get on jungle cruise ask the CM about the hairy tarantula :goodvibes on the right hand side.

hope to have a picture update later today
