i would love to try surfing at TL some time on that big wave, but im hoping i can learn when we go to hawaii instead my sister law is going to teach us all the different water sports over there.

we tried to tell him that you needed more chocolate chips, but he said no...when i make them for parker there is a chip in each bit.

Chapter 24. Fall Montage

Not sure if that is spelled right or not, but im going to have a few fall happenings in this update, so a (montage) felt right, if that is indeed how you spell it.

Lets hop back a little to apple picking and pumpkin picking at our local orchard.

the main barn at the orchard.
DSC02874.jpg

you get to ride a big tractor out to the fields.
DSC02880.jpg

which was one of parkers favorite parts.

what do you do when you spot a great looking apple to pick but it is too high to reach, you use your brains, and your kid to get it.

DSC02895.jpg

candi was worried about him being up so high, but i assured her if i dropped him, he would bounch off a few branches before he hit the ground slowing him down and give me a chance to catch him first.

and what do men do when they succed at getting apples out a tree that high up, why we flex with them of course.

DSC02896.jpg

DSC02890.jpg

we also got to feed baby cows
DSC02906.jpg

throw in a block party for good measure, with a jump house and it is a good fall.
DSC02929.jpg

parker wanted me to see if i could hit my head on the roof of the jump house.
DSC02948.jpg

2 weeks ago we took our annual camping trip for the end of the season, and elmer fud joined in, well at least his hat did.
DSC00620.jpg

this is our group hiking the trails.
DSC00696.jpg

we also enjoyed some good food over the fire, nothing like a roasted hot dog.
DSC00646.jpg

and a few spins on the tire swing.
DSC00750.jpg

DSC00756.jpg

parker enjoyed the play house at the park as well.
DSC00765.jpg

it was great weather all weekend, mid to high 60's and even got in the 70's a few times during the middle of hte day, great camping and hiking weather.

DSC03439.jpg

good thing my BIL was there to catch me should we fall...
DSC03444.jpg

parker liked running around on the flat parts of the trail.
DSC03457.jpg

this is our favorite part of the trails.
DSC03462.jpg

you can either walk down where we are or up on that ledge about the height of candis head on the right hand side.

the campground had trick or treating that weekend, and parker was thomas the train with hat and a train whistle.
DSC00827.jpg

even the gate workers get in on the dress up
DSC00778.jpg

the smurfs showed up for the costum contest and won best of show
DSC00847.jpg

then it was home and cleaning our pumpkins out
DSC03484.jpg

this ones for you glenn

we didnt have time to buy anything this year and didnt want to run out and waste money so we thought lets just look around hte house and see what we have to wear, wellcandi found her old middle school cheerleading outfit...so she thought about trying it on to see if it fits.

sure enough it did.
DSC03507.jpg

she said "i cant believe i fit into my middle school outfit, i must be pretty skinny"

i said" either that or you were a chunky middle school kid"

i got hit pretty good for that one, good thing i started to run away before she got me good.

(she knew i was teasing her everyone i am not calling her fat, it was a funny joke and she laughed about it as well)

well that about wraps it up for now.

Great fall montage! Looks like you've been having a great time. And good for Candi fitting into her middle school cheerleading outfit!

As for not being on facebook, get with the times! lol

Great update. Love the pictures. Will reply later, and you KNOW there will be a Candi comment........

Commenting in reverse order...

Wow, I'm impressed that Candi fits into her middle school cheerleading outfit. Thanks for including!

I can't believe you were riding on the tire swing with Parker. Don't you ever watch America's Funniest Home Videos?

And, regarding holding Parker up to pick the apple. I was thinking the same thing -- "Oh, you'll have time to catch him before he gets to the ground." :rotfl2:

looks like a lot fun with all fall activities

That is great she can fit in her middle school outfit

My cheer leading colors for high school were same color:goodvibes

Trent was looking over my shoulder and said Parker is a cute Junior Thomas the train...:goodvibes

Thanks for sharing your Fall activities! Looks like you had alot of fun!
The Orchard looks really cool - I wasn't even worried about Parker falling.
The camping/hiking looks really fun, too. It's great that your weather held out. I don't know whether the Smurfs are weird or funny. Congrats to Candi for being able to get in to that cheerleading outfit! What was your costume?

Those apple-picking pictures are just adorable!
That amputated foot & smurf guys just freak me out! :scared1:
Not only can Candi fit in her middle school outfit, she looks the exact same age as a middle school girl. I still think she's your daughter! Great genes!

Dan, that was some montage!!! I'll have to break out my best Sheri Lewis for this: And it goes on and on, my friend. We've done many of the same activities- good to see we're being normal, good Americans. :lmao:

I think I'd need a shoe horn to get me into my middle school outfit!

I love this picture! That one is something you should frame. I have to say I've been lurking on your TR, Parker has to be one of the cutest little boys! Aside from my own, :rolleyes1 What park were you at? It reminded me of a park near us in Iowa that we like to go to and hike.

Here are a pictures there quite a few caves you can walk through. We took friends to hike and picnic there this summer.

Fall is my absolute favorite time of year and looks like you guys have made the most of it so far! Love the camping and hiking. :thumbsup2 When we went camping a couple of weekends ago, they were also doing trick or treating through the campground. But, we hadn't brought our costumes. Those smurfs looked awesome! :cool1:

Love the picture of you and Parker from behind.....but my favorite is of Parker running on the trail ahead of Candi. He just looks like he's having an absolute blast!

I found a hidden Mickey in the Candi-cheerleader picture! I'm sure seeing Candi in a cheerleader outfit distracted all the guys and they would have missed it ;)

I have the DVR set up to record Undercover Boss. We will be gone so hopefully by the time we get back you will have had time to watch it and point out all of your cameo appearances. I set the DVR to run an hour past the regular time, it looks like there is a football game on that afternoon and I know when I used to try to record Cold Case on Sunday nights they never seemed to start on time because of games running too long. I would think recording an extra hour should be enough to catch it all.

Good job, Dan.

well the funny thing is when they got parker out, the tire swing ended up flipping back on me to where my head was about 6 inches from the ground, and i had to pull myself back up to straight...they all ran to get the cameras back out without helping me first, but lucikly i got up on my own first.

that was in the central part of indiana at turkey run state park....your pictures remind me of another state park that we go to that has caves like that but sadly they blocked off a few of them because they were starting to get worn down to much from so many people hiking through them that they wanted to preserve them so they took the stairs out to get to it.

yep we have, still have a little bit of fall days left hopefully with the weather coming up next week. have to try and use the outdoor campfire a few more times before its time to put it away.

im sure they could have still went around even though they didnt have costumes kids were doing it where we were without them.

thta is one of my favorites as well, i love that running one.

huh, i will have to go check that out as well, im thinking it is on the wall hanging up on one of the pictures.

i always record the full hour show after it, as well as the 1/2 hour news show after it as well, just to be safe.

if you watch it before you see what it typed about it,just pay really close attention to when he is with the hot dog vendor at the part where he is walking up the ramp to his assignment, as then just after that whenhe is in the bleachers selling hot dogs we walk by the ramp above them.

Good job, Dan.
well in her defense, growing up they got the colts games instead of the bears in her part of indiana, and we both went to college about 40 minutes from INDY so in my 4 years down there, i got maybe 1 game a year on TV on average since the colts were the dominate tv viewing down there.

he does a really good HULK impression as well.

Great pix Dan !!!Looks like great family fun!!!!

thanks rose, we have alot of good times.
