Good morning from the Wonderful World of Disney, coming to you live from the beautiful Fort Wilderness,,which is currently our front yard,

Today is,,11/11/11 .

Right now it is 49 degrees out,,the coolest morning we have seen since we have been home. The high for today is spose to be 65.

I just remembered, on Tom's island ,at the end of the island there is a fort ,,Fort Langhorn. Many years ago Disney usta have a small concession inside the fort, it was always pretty cool to get snacks and drinks from there. They don't serve there anymore,.

Oh, and just in case anyone is curious about rain,,ya'll should come to the Fort when we are here, it rarely rains when we are home,,altho I can't control the temperatures worth a hoot.

Loving the live report. You are really making me homesick. Whatever you do today, it will be great because you're home.

ETA: Also, when we were out at Langhorn I thought an area looked as if it could have been a concession or something at some point in time. Glad to hear you remember that it was that, I will have to tell DD since she wondered too. I guess there just wasn't enough people coming out there to validate it being open. Although I think out there would be the perfect place to chow down on a turkey leg. lol

Now...skulking back to my own TR corner to actually work on mine...

We took the boat over to the Contemp for supper (it was day light out) ,,coming down the dock of the Contemp to come back to the Fort (it was dark),,OHHHH MY GOD THE BUGS !!!!!! A TRILLION BAZILLION BUGS AND MORE !!!
I swear it lookd like a plague of blind skeeters upon Bay Lake !!
We googled them, they are called Blind mosquitoes and are mosquito-like insects in the family Chironomidae. They are often referred to as aquatic midges.

Horrible little baggers,,I mean buggers !

Wanted to take a pic but was afraid of what they'd do to the camera shutter., They weren't nearly as flavorful as supper.

Well, gotta go bathe again.

Good morning to all you "Friends of the Fort" coming to you from the Fort !!

Gonna be another Fantasmic day here in the Wilderness a beautiful balmy 80 degrees fun in the sun and warmth on the buns.

Okay, not to sound negative about anything, but thought I'd catch ya'll up on general things in my mind (and we all know how my mind works).

There Fort has been pretty much full since we got here, a few sites empty now and then. I reck'n I as much to blame as anyone for that, everytime someone asks about the Fort we are all like, "YEAH ! TRY IT YOU'LL LIKE IT !!"
If we were smart we'd be tell'n folks it stinks. Too late now ,

We did the second night of MVMCP this past week,,except for the parade, there was very little at the party that had anything to dowith Christmas, only a couple trees, a few decorations, only bout 2/3 of the CM'S were in Holiday uniforms, didn't hear much Christmas music till over 1/2 way thru the night.
All I'm say'n is , it's Disney, and if you wanna charge me a separate xtra price $$ for a Christmas party then everything should be ready/go for Christmas. The CM's did a great job on the Merry Chritmas greetings ,

As of yet, haven't seen any unruley teens/kids/or adults acting like idiots on buggies. But there are over-loaded buggies everywhere.

We have seen security patoling more then we have ever seen in all our years of coming to the Fort.

When we first arrived here there wasn't much in the way of decorations on sites,,but now folk are start'n to put up a few.

Parents, KEEP A EYE ON YOUR CHILDREN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the live report......Sorry to hear the fort is full too!!!! I am also made the mistake of telling too many people. This is the first year that we couldn't get a military discount because they were all used up. WOW.

Thanks so much for letting us tag along. I have really enjoyed all of the pics Makes me crazy homesick. Can't wait to get there....only 3 more weeks. My boys can't wait to get some fishing done. Daddy forgot the poles last trip

Also here following along--very jealous as we are not coming to the fort in 2011 because all of our time and money has been devoted to college football this season.

Was at the pond behind the Meadows this afternoon and some folk was catching a buncha very nice bream,,used hotdog for bait.

There's a tree there also that apparently eats fishing "bobbers" counted, I counted 5 in the same tree branch, in exactly the same spot .
It kinda reminded me of the Charlie Brown kite eating tree .
