Hello All-

As the title suggests, is there any way to make those pull out couches more comfortable in the 1BR rooms? We have 4 nights at BCV and would consider inviting another family for Food and Wine. However, I’m not sure if that’s much of an invitation if their back is thrown out of alignment while sleeping on pull out sofa.

Have any of you done mattress pads or inflatable mattresses to try to make it better? We aren’t asking them to pay, so is the pull out sofa insulting for two adults in their 40s, even if it’s a free place to stay. From what I’ve read, the answer is yes, but I’m curious about your thoughts and solutions. Thanks!

I almost always sleep on the pull out both studio and 1bdrm,,,I am over 50 and had no issues,,,but that said,,there will be lots on here that think they are sleeping on gravel and would never think of it.

Yeah, that’s the tricky thing. I think I’d be ok, but I’m hesitant to offer it to guests. I don’t know if they are going to be more like you or those who claim it to be gravel. Next time I’m there, I’m going to pull it out for myself and form my own assessment.

Do they still have those egg crate sponge things you can ask for from mousekeeping? We used those before and it made the pullout at BWV bearable. Honestly, those pullouts are why we book 2bds now. Even my kids started complaining once they reached a certain weight.

We bring our own (we typically drive). A cheap one from walmart is enough.

I was curious about this too!

have them pay to rent points needed to upgrade to a 2 BR. Or book SSr or RIV with the murphy bed.

They do!

I used one in our BWV GV in December - it was better for each couple to have their own rooms, and me (the solo traveler) got the run of the living room and pullout. Night 1 wasn't great, but after asking for a foam egg crate topper I had no issues the rest of the trip

Well, it’s a 4 day weekend for us, and we are using SSR points to book BCV due to Food and Wine festival. I’d even upgrade to two bedroom if there was October availability. Alas, there is not.

I just don’t want to throw out the invite and then have a bad time. This gets into how much of a trooper people are and their love of Disney. For me, it’d be worth it. I love Disney. I can’t speak to their feelings.

This is good to know! My DD may be joining us in May and I would love to get an egg crate for her.

This is good to know. From what I can gather, the egg topper and, of course, the Murphy beds are pretty widely acceptable. The pull out couch on its own stands a decent chance of being a risk. I wouldn’t sleep on it; however, I didn’t know if it was good enough for another couple to tag along for free.

a heads up - at first housekeeping brought a set of sheets (we had asked for the mattress topper), and then when we saw them in the hall we asked for the more specific foam egg crate topper, and they were super nice and got it for us. I'm 33, 5'4", and it was plenty of space for me. And TBH, if I'm getting a free room, I think it's a fine place to crash.

What about for a couple? It’s queen sized, right?
