I have been trying to find out information on what types of seeds can be sprouted for eating the sprouts. I know weird place here on the disboards to post. I know one can purchase sprouting seeds at various places on line. My queston is if you can use the dried beans/barley etc to sprout? I have read in The Sprouting Book that seeds can be inexpensively purchased in bulk for under $1 per pound, but in my searches the most inexpensive seems to be 5-greater amounts per pound! THANK you for any help in getting seeds!!!! or any personnal knowledge on sprouting and dried beans.

I think there is a gardening board. You may want to try there.

As far as I'm aware, dried beans will no longer sprout. Sprouting is the seeds germinating and once they have been dried, they shouldn't be able to germinate....

I THINK!

Hope someone else can give you more info :)

Thanks. I recall as a child taking the largest green beans (an example) drying them and planting the next year. I know you have to dry out most fruit tree pits/seeds. I don't know though for sure about my question on sprouts. Thanks for your help!
