Springtime Surprise 2026 (Apr 16-20)

I’m definitely thinking for the 5th anniversary there HAS to be some Star Wars components or maybe I’m just clowning myself

If there is what’s the lowest pace you can put without needing a proof of time as I’d love to attempt the challenge again if not theme permitting I’ll probably do at least the 5k again as it’s one of the two races I’m unofficially perfect with (I’m also that with the W&D 10k)

The dates listed for the Springtime Surprise 2026 previously stated 4/16-4/19. Now the display banner says 4/16-4/20.

We're considering our first challenge attempt and thought the three races would be the Fri (4/17), Sat (4/18), and Sun (4/19). So what's on Monday the 20th?

We've only done two runs before and neither was the Springtime Surprise, so we're not too informed. Hoping to plan this well in advance but if one of the three races is on Monday I don't think we can do it. Would there be a "surprise" 4th race?

I really wanted/want to do springtime next year, but it will be dependent on if I get into Boston, since it's the weekend leading up to Marathon Monday. My BQ attempt race is in 2 weeks, at which point I'll either know I'm definitely not in for Boston, or I'm maybe in for Boston but have to wait until Sept to know if I made the cut off. So, I may be relying on telegram in the fall as a consolation prize.

Good Luck for your BQ attempt.

I had to miss this year's SS since it fell on my son's birthday, and I missed participating. So I'm hoping I'm in for 2026! It's a move year for us, so I won't be sure I want to make the commitment until right before registration. Hopefully the theme will help sway me one way or the other.

Already mentioned it in last years thread. But because of the forced DNS from a broken part on 10 miler I’m itching to come back with unfinished business. Now especially knowing I won’t be doing Halloween at DL. So consider me in for the Challenge.

Here are some themes I wish rD would do for SS
-Disney Afternoon Themed (90's after school show race themes)
-Disney Channel over the years (80's, 90's, 2000's and current maybe as the 5k for kids and families to enjoy
-Star Wars if not this year, next year for the anni.
-Bring back something of a surprise to the race or change the name. Maybe change the distances (12k, 8k, 5k?), or the distance order longer distance first, or have the race at night? Surprise us!
-Disney Duo's (famous pairs over the years) Would be fun if you and another runner's time were added together as a pair and pairs were ranked with total time.

Are we the same person?? I had never once even considered doing anything more than the one random Princess 5K I signed up for because we happened to have a trip booked at the same time. Then I saw the Kessel Run medal. Who has two thumbs and decides to start running races at 45?! 👍👍
My first half (first anything longer than a 10k) was at age 43

I'm planning to run the 5K next year to piggyback on a longer trip to see my dad on the coast. I have a question about parking - I'd likely fly into Orlando and stay over at a Disney Resort on Wednesday, run the 5K Thursday and then meet up with my dad at a park for the day. I'd drive back to his house with him late Thursday. Am I still considered a resort guest and able to get free park (or hotel, for that matter - was thinking of staying at Pop and taking the Skyliner back to our car seems easy) parking on Thursday even though I've checked out that day?

Yes, I believe you are considered a resort guest all day on check in and check out day.

For Springtime Surprise Weekend, the 5k is on Friday. Just want to make sure you have your days right or to see if you meant to post in the Marathon Weekend thread.

No problems with that plan. I did springtime surprise, put our stuff in the car, rode the Skyliner and left the car at Pop all day while we went to the parks.

Thank you! I meant Friday, I appreciate the clarification.

Same here - sitting on a 6:32 buffer which is still iffy as to whether I'll get into the race. Contemplating signing up for the 5K before I fly to Boston on Friday.
