Hi everyone,

Spring has sprung in Ohio. I smell my hyacinths every time I pass up and down the driveway. I planned it that way, but so many times things don't work out as planned!!!

I hope you all are enjoying a lovely spring day too!

Bobbi :flower:

It was a beautiful day also in NY. Now that it's daylight savings time it really feels like the warmer weather is coming. :flower: :sunny: :flower3: :flower1: :daisy:

:flower: :sunny: Yesterday was a beautiful day and today should be nice too. Yes spring is here :) .

Yes spring is in the air here too. I was out today preparing one of my many beds. I start with the biggest one first to get it out of the way. I did some trimming on my spiral trees, cut back the dead grass plants, and cut the edge of the raised bed with a shovel.

If the weather is going to be nice this weekend I'm going to paint the exterior of the house. Any volunteers to come and help? :)

No thank you, crzy4dsny, but I'll come to tell you just how beautiful it looks!

Our library is going to have a perenial swap later in April, it sounds interesting, I've never participated in one, but I have lots and lots of purple coneflowers to share, so I'm going to go!

:sunny: Another great day yesterday it hit 70 degrees. I raked the front yard, now to work on the back. :flower:

Spring has finally sprung here too! Finally heard peepers last night. First sign of spring in my area.

Been in the yard all week. I did mega clean-up this fall and the spring clean-up has been rather easy. There has been 2 feet of snow on the ground all winter so everything blew away. Some twigs, (lots of twigs) and matted grass to rake. Took the heater out of my pond yesterday. All this yard work keeps me out of the stores My wallet is getting rather thin. Lots of new spring outfits and 5 new pairs of wedged sandals, get my toe nails done this wednesday and I can finally take off these socks and boots. It's been a long winter and my feet need air.

Back to the yard, all my spring bulbs are rapidly emerging from their slumber. Buds on my shrubs are swelling, can't wait to smell lilac's. We leave for DC next saturday, hope the cherry blossoms are blooming (better take my claritin)

It's looking like a lot of perennials bit the dust this year, don't know if they got smothered or moled. #1 project rid the yard of these moles, then I can replant.

Two falls ago we took down our monster pines, the lady beside me is having her pines removed next week. After 39 years of shade gardening my yard will soon be drenched in sun. This is a whole new experience for me. After years of a limited selection of garden plants, I get to purchase all the beautiful plants that say (full sun) I'm on a Sun High!

Spring has sprung here in NJ! Spent yesterday and today cleaning the ponds and flower beds. Got a lot done but there's still much to do. Rain again tonight :umbrella:

Yesterday I was pumping the water out of the pond and watering with it. While watering one of the rose bushes I heard an peeping/squeaking noise coming from the rose bush. I took the hose away and the noise stopped put the hose on it again. This time it was clearly annoyed with me and got loud. Looking down I noticed movement in the bush. The base of the roses are covered in mulch and straw from the winter. I haven't gotten a chance to remove it. Well sure enough a bunny has made a hut of straw at the base of the rose bush. He was not happy I watered his house. I stopped watering but took a pic. I didn't think he would mind.:earboy2:

Deb, I used to get so angry when bunnies ate every last one of my carefully tended broccoli plants, but your story is so cute. I love everyone else's bunnies, but my own!

Bobbi :flower:

Bobbi, I too growl about the bunnies but the babies are soooo sweet.

Today I'm growling about the woodchuck living in my front yard. He's dug a huge whole right smack dab in the middle of the lawn. DH thought I was going to plant a tree there. It's that big! He sleeping under the porch. Has nice roof over his head. He's eaten the bulbs in front except for the daffies. They must taste pretty bad, this guy eats anything.

The daffys are out here! It's FINALLY starting to look like SPRING!!!

I'm in pretty good shape on the cleanup but I'm really going to try to add peat moss and top soil to my flower beds. They're woefully overdue and I think this is the year I'm going to gear up and make it happen!

Wish my aching back luck!

Now that, was awesome!!! :sunny: :sunny: Was it good for you too? :smooth:

What a wonderful weekend! You know, I complain and moan and groan about winter, but when you finally get a couple of gorgeous days, it's like a special gift and SO appreciated!! I wonder if it would be the same without such definitive seasons?

Gina, I hear you about the aching back! Mine does too, as does my neck, and knees. DH hurt his arm at work last week, and had trouble using the telescopic pruning on our tree branches, so I was helping him out. Looking up so much, deciding which branches to prune, and doing it, left me with a huge pain in the neck!!! Still hurts!

Are we going to see your little bunny guest, Deb? :)
