You are invited to join the Seasonal and Holiday Recipe Swap hosted by VickiV and pretty in tink. The theme is spring and summer recipes, as well as holidays and other special events that fall in this time frame, such as Easter, Mother’s Day, and the Fourth of July. Also, there is kid’s group, either their favorite or something they like to make. You may sign up for as many groups as you would like. We can add more groups as they fill.

REQUIREMENTS: Make 6 for each group. Completed recipes must be 8 ½” x 5 ½”. Staples sells the binders and the plastic sheet protectors for this size. Use cardstock and layer at least once plus one embellishment. You can embellish any way you choose, but be C-R-E-A-T-I-V-E!!! Please check in every 2 weeks. Please pm one of us to let us know your phone number and address.

SENDING & RECEIVING: Mail date is no later than Friday, March 14. Mail all 6 copies of the recipe you do. You will get one of yours back. These are due Friday, March 21. Please try to get your package shipped on time so that we can get your recipes returned promptly. We will mail out all swaps the next week.

Label your recipes with your Dis name, real name, category and group number. Put your recipes in a plastic bag larger than the recipes. Individual zip bags will leave lines on the recipes if they are too small. One of us will PM you the shipping address when you are ready to mail them. However you send them, include an envelope and postage for the same amount for return shipping (stamps, cash, check). If you choose priority shipping, we can get priority envelopes at the post office and then do the priority-shipping label online to get free delivery confirmation for you. Please don’t send metered or click-it/ship-it postage – some hostesses have had issues with these.

Holidays I found in my Photo Album Calendar (from my SS)-St. Patrick’s Day, Easter, Passover, Cinco de Mayo, Mother’s Day, Memorial Day, Father’s Day, Independence Day (4th of July), and Labor Day. Special events can include weddings, graduations, and showers, and birthdays. If there is a holiday or event I’ve missed, please feel free to do a recipe for it

For the Holiday category, please state for which holiday you are doing your recipe.

:cool1: I love these!

One Summer and one holiday group please! (which holidays are we talking about?) I would like Fourth of July!

I'd like to be a part of the Spring, the kid's group and the Summer group. I have a full week off soon to work on these :-)

Cooking and Scrapping are the two things that reduce stress from teaching :-)

Can I have one spring, one summer and one kids please. I LOVE thse (did I ever mention that?)

Can I have one spring, one summer, one holiday, and I would love to do a kid if their are spaces (since I don't have any children myself just leave me as an alternate until all the kids are in.

I forgot to subscribe! :-)

Have no fear, I have swapped before. Just not on these boards.

Got it updated to here.:thumbsup2

Now if only I could remember the kid recipe name that I want to do...just have to find the recipe! :confused3 It's not something edible though.

You'll find we love to have new people swap with us- whether they are new to scrapbooking or swapping or not- I am glad you are joining us.

I found my recipes:
Spring 1: cobb salad
Summer 1: orange jewel
Holiday: Easter: Chocolate Covered easter Eggs
Kids: hotdog People

I'm still choosing recipes - I have my Summer one (Greek Island Grilled Chicken) but am dithering over Spring and kids. Are the kids ones for kids to cook or that kids like to eat?

Can't edit from work - Spring will be Super Spinach Pasta.

Updated to here.

MazdaUK, the kids recipes can be either something kids like to eat or something the kids can make themselves.

Interesting titles of recipes here. :lovestruc

recipes:
Spring-Asparagus and Goat Cheese Quesadillas (wow, I miss spring...)
Summer-Watermelon Summer Salad (this one is a bit of a stretch ingrediant wise. I personally think it works really well...but I may reconsider:confused3 )
Kids-Birds Nest (I make these all the times with my nieces and nephews.

There's some gremlins crept into the start page - my spinach is PASTA (not salad) and I think hot dog people are rlove's - I haven't decided on my kids recipe yet! I'll have a look through my books and see what they like (I used my best kid-friendly ones on the last round:rotfl2: )

ETA: Kids recipe will be shortbread

Have it up to here again.

Those gremlins really got me.:thumbsup2 That will teach me that I shouldn't pay attention to my DH and answer the phone at the same time I'm doing this.:rotfl:

I want to join but I am wondering if there is a thread where I can see pics of past recipe swaps? Just want a general idea of this (can't visualize - lack of sleep LOL)

Go to the swap calendar and find the previous one (I'm not sure if thre were photos of the Christmas one but there were of the ones before I think) there should be a clickable link to the thread:thumbsup2

But if you think printed recipe on top of paper on top of cardstock with some frillies you're about there:)

I think the recipe swaps are the best way to get started in swapping.

I didn't do any pictures of the Fall & Winter and Holiday Swap yet. The recipes are still at my desk. I still have plans to do it though, was just thinking about it again yesterday. I don't think the Heritage Recipe Swap had pictures either, but the Disney Recipe Swaps did. I also looked on Two Peas and searched recipes to see what they were doing. Most that I saw there were a lot more elaborate than what we do here.

I'm going to close this tomorrow. Then we'll see if we want to combine any groups to fill them.

VickiV

seeing as I have two of my three recipe sets done (in numbers of the people signed up, I love weekends) I can do holidays as well if you need to round out that group

I just noticed that Mazda's doing shortbread...so the swap will have a shortbread recipe from England:cloud9: Shortbread is my favorite and the best I ever had was in an Tea Shop in England. Now I'm really excited.:cheer2:
