For over a decade WDW has been offering Star Wars Weekends during May and early June as a draw to bring guests into the parks. After yesterday's sad announcement of the cancellation of SWW this leaves only Epcots Flower and Garden Festival- not exactly the biggest headliner to get people into the parks during a slow time of year.

This past year we went during September for F&W. Several years ago this was our favorite time of year to go because there was no wait for rides and ADR's were easy. Not this year-it was packed! Free dining, F&W, MNSSHP and other events have made fall super crowded and bring people in during, what use to be, a quiet time of year.

With May schools having spring finals and standardized testing. Will the end of spring through Memorial Day become the new Fall? What is there to really bring the people in especially with the construction zones all around, not just at HS?

Any "rumors" on new spring offerings?

I doubt anything as big as Star Wars weekends will be added but the new frozen attraction is supposed to open in May which would bring in people. I also doubt May would become the new September.

September use to be quiet with very little wait times for rides. That's what I meant by may becoming the new september. The quiet time of year. We liked going in september when it was like that.

I doubt May will be the least crowded time of year. In addition, I think as Disney has continued to get better at spreading crowds over the year, the idea that another time of year will become a "dead period" is not very likely. Ideally Disney would like every day as crowded but never to capacity. They are getting better at accomplishing this goal.

May is a slower month...they would probably consider somekind of replacement promo now that Star Wars is "important enough" to be full year

I hope you are right. We typically go in September but our next trip is May 2016.
