my mind is really geared toward wanting to do a FA program because 1) i'd love to be in disney for however long as i can, 2) i'd love to be there for the MNSSHP and the MVMCP, 3) my b-day is in december and i'v always wanted to be there during my b-day. but if i don't get into the FA or just the fall program, i would apply for spring (if i decide i want to do a spring semester prgram).
for all you past cper's, in your opinion, what you say some of the pro and cons of doing a cp during the fall program vs doing the spring program?

You're talking about FA '10, right? That's what I gathered from your signature.

Now, I haven't done the CP yet, but I can give you a couple of great reasons why you should do FA 2010.

1. It's the same time as me! That way, I won't be the only crazy person planning my internship an entire year in advance!

2. The later months will be cool. Of course May - September will be hot, but then it gets cool! I've been to WDW in October, November, and December, and they are all relatively cool. Most nights I even felt chilly in a hoodie.

3. It's the same time as me! ;)

yes i am planning on applying for FA 2010. and don't worry, you're not the only crazy person besides me who is planning a year ahead of time. there is a thread on this board for people planning to apply for the FA/fall 2011 program.

I'm curious about the same thing.

I wasn't accepted for the fall program this season, so I'll be auditioning for character performer for Spring 2010 and only attend if I pass the audition, otherwise I plan on giving my all to getting in for Fall 2010 with tons of roles (the lack there of is most likely why I didn't get in this time around, with only 3).

So, I'd like to know the benefits of both seasons as well as which is better: a semester duration program or an advantage program. Pros/cons?

Thanks!

I've done both Spring and Fall. I definitely prefer doing the Fall season over the Spring season, for a few reasons:
1) I love being at Disney for the major holidays
2) There are some awsome events that fall during the Fall programs (including MNSSHP, MVMCP, Food and Wine, and so on)
3) My birthday!

what is the weather like for both seasons? did it rain more during the fall than spring, is it colder or warmer during the spring than fall? that sort of thing. i like working and wouldn't mind getting 50-70 hour a week shifts during the peek times (if i decide not to take any classes). did you find that you were able to get more shifts during the fall program because of all those events or during the spring?

*The weather for Spring started out cooler, then got warmer as the CP progressed (while Fall was the opposite).

*I would say it didn't really start raining regularly until late Spring/early Summer (about late April or so). So I feel Spring people miss most of the regular raining.

*It depended on the time of the year. For the most part, the shift amounts were the same (except around the major holidays, when they went up).

that's cool. thanks for all the info. both seasons sounds pretty similar except for the weather. maybe i'll try doing both seasons fo the cp and see how i feel about one over the other for myself.

I have done 2 CPs, one spring advantage and one summer alumni, and I personally loved the fact that it was in the spring and summer. For one thing, it was easy to transition into the hot and humid Florida summers. Also, when you arrive for SA, the parks are pretty dead so you can have a lot of fun for the first 2 months or so that you are there. I also chose SA because I realized how important the holidays are. I go to school 7 hours away from home, and I know that when the holidays get close, I become more and more anxious to go home and be with my family. While all of the parties are fun and awesome, you need to think if it would be worth it to miss being home for the holidays. I'm currently in the process of graduating and moving down to Florida for a PI and I'm glad that I got to spend all these Christmases at home before I started a career with Disney.
