Spring break?

So, DH & I have been discussing spring break. We're doing disney in the summer, so thats not a choice. I'd like to go to a resort in the US. Don't care if there are mountains or a beach or what, but I want a great resort with activities and a pool and somewhere we can relax w/the kids. On the other hand there has to be some activities to keep them busy as well. Any suggestions?

I don't know what part of the US you are looking at, but we love Orange Beach/Gulf Shores, AL. Two places in that area come to mind: the Caribe and the Wharf. The Caribe is a condo complex, not directly on the beach but adjacent to the beach (they have a shuttle that will take you there). Great pool area with waterslides. It's a great complex right in the middle of the action of that area, close to restaurants, etc. The Wharf is off of the beach, more on the bay side, but it is the middle of a restaurant and shopping complex (complete with a ferris wheel!). The "pool" is more of a tiny waterpark called the "Oasis". It's awesome. There's also an amphitheater on the property that offers concerts and events.
