Monday, 3/7 - The Cool Relatives, Goodbye SpectroMagic, & The Bet
We got to sleep in on Monday and take our time showering and getting ready. We all ate lunch at Old Port Royale and waited for Aunt Phyllis and Uncle Dave to come to visit us. They came around 2:30 (I was a bit upset because I could have went to a park, but oh well) and we talked for a while then got a quick dinner from OPR again. They left around 5:30.
Olivia, Jay, and I went to MK. We waited in line for HM and Big Thunder. Olivia went on Big Thunder and loved it. Then we waited for the last showing of SpectroMagic and I was really upset at the end because I knew I wouldn't see it again for over a year. After the parade we practically ran across the bridge from Liberty Square and watched Wishes while relaxing on a railing. Jay agreed that Wishes is very sentimental and said it was a good show. He was just amazed at Tinkerbell flying down that rope!
After Wishes was over we ran once again to Space Mountain. Olivia went on that ride last summer but was scared to go on it again, and so I gave her a bet. If she goes on SM I'd go on ToT, the only thing I'm scared of because I hate free-falling, it's just a scary feeling to me. She wasn't going to go on until I told the CM "3 people" and she just sat down and went on it. And she ended up loving it!
Then the disaster - We waited for 45 minutes, 3 busses, just to get back to CBR. From now on I'll alway stay at the Campground or WL, I miss the boat rides. Also, once you've been spoiled and stay at the "Deluxe" resort, anything else just seems weird. Don't get me wrong, CBR was really nice, but it was just lacking what I feel at the Lodge.
Tuesday, 3/8 - The Bet Followed Through, The Hot Guy From England, & IllumiNations
Well, since my sister went on SM I knew I had to follow through and go on ToT. There was no wait at all and I got a FP for it, just incase I liked it and wanted to go on again. Waiting in line to get in the elevator I was shaking because I just can't stand not knowing when you're going to drop. However, the special effects were awesome, my favorite part being the stars all around. I just want to know how that ride works! And so, after waiting a few seconds and dropping and going back up, I loved it! It doesn't even feel like a free-fall! My picture, however, showed otherwise - I look petrified! After that Olivia and I went on RnRC twice in a half hour/45 minutes. Then I decided to go on ToT one more time and the BIGGEST SHOCK EVER happened - Olivia went on ToT!!! She didn't like it though, but was just happy she went on it! She went on all the big rides at WDW, all the rides that she was scared of last summer.
We left MGM and decided to spend the rest of the day at Epcot. We rode MS, TT, and did Honey I Shrunk the Audience. Then we walked around the world, starting with Mexico. We went on both boat rides at Mexico and Norway. We spent a lot of time shopping in Germany since my dad was born there when my pop was there with nana. I wanted to get in a stein so bad, but they are way expensive. From Germany it was off to my favorite country, Italy! I want to go to Venice so bad, and this is the closest I've been. When we were there we caught a show, a mime-guy who blows a whistle instead of talking. Well of course he spots me and throws a small soccer ball to me during the show. I had to throw it in the green net he was holding, and let's just say it was hilarious. Then he threw more balls to people and threw another one to me! I didn't want to try that again so I gave it to a little girl who was next to me. After the show, which was incredible, we shopped around Italy. From there we stopped in Morocco and France where I found the one thing I wanted to buy more than anything - A French perfume. It's by Lacoste and it's called "Touch of Pink" and it smells incredible! Once I looked at my watch I realized we were late meeting Nana, Pop, and Jay at the Living Seas for dinner. We made it though, and the dinner was fantastic!
After dinner we decided to walk around the countries, again, and stay for IllumiNations. Well, Jay wanted to get Harp beer from England and that's when I saw him, the CM working at the little stand. He had the best English accent and I bet I was drooling at one point. Too bad I didn't wear my pin lanyard because I could have asked to trade a pin with him! However, talking for a few minutes did just fine. I'm a sucker for guys with accents.
Jay took awesome pictures of Olivia and I in the countries and I finally decided to buy my Parisian perfume. We shopped in Germany, again, and Jay bought a stein to add to our collection on the mantle of our family room. Nana even caved in and bought a Hummel figurine. Pop joked around and said he'd have to work a year just to pay off the cost of the purfume, stein, and Hummel.
It was cold waiting for IllumiNations! But it didn't matter becasue the show as fabulous! I simply loved it! We left Epcot after the show.
Wednesday, 3/9 - Three Parks In One Day, Wishes One More Time, & Who Cares If It's Raining?!
It rained. It rained all day on Wednesday. But we didn't care, Olivia and I. We wanted to do all our favorite rides in the last day. First we started out at MGM with ToT (with Jay this time) and RnRC, both were walk-ons.
Then we headed off to Epcot for one last ride on MS. TT was closed. We ate lunch at Epcot and took the monorail to MK. Jay left us to go back to CBR for a nap.
By that time the temperatures dropped and it was raining steadily. However the lines were incredibly short! Splash Mountain (big surprise) was a walk-on and Olivia bought the picture of us on it. Big Thunder was another walk-on. We decided to take our time around the park and got to see PhilharMagic and FPed SM. Around 4:30 Nana, Pop, and Jay met up with us for dinner at CRT and we even got to get our pictures taken with Cindy! If it would have been Sleeping Beauty, my favorite princess, I probably would have fainted. I never ever got her autograph or picture when I was little. Anyway. Dinner was fantastic as always. After dinner we all went back to the hotel to relax for about a half hour or so.
Then it was back to MK for Wishes one last time and the EMH. I cried during Wishes because it was the last time I'd see it, like SpectroMagic, for over a year. Tink didn't fly because of the weather and it was sort of hard to see some of the fireworks because of the low cloud cover and the smoke wouldn't move anywhere. But I knew what went on and it was still magical.
EMH was awesome. In 2 hours and 45 minutes Jay, Olivia, and I managed to ride Pooh's Honeypots, Peter Pan, Haunted Mansion, Splash (which was a 0 minute wait, they were sending logs down empty!), Big Thunder, Pirates of the Caribbean twice, Olivia got a pirate flag, then we went to ride Space Mountain - TWICE! The CMs were great, the one asked for my phone number and I told him that I'd be working here soon and to come and find me. Some of them even got in the space ship trains and rode with other guests. Then we went on Astro Orbiter, I got a little dizzy. Finally, we ended with walking down Main St. and shopping. I bought the Wishes CD!!!
We waited for the Kiss Goodnight, but after 10 minutes and Olivia complaining she was tired we decided to call it a night.
And so, I left the Magic Kingdom with a CM telling "Have a Magical Night!" and the Castle turning from blue to purple. I want to get married in front of the Castle sooo bad.
Thursday, 3/10 - See Ya Real Soon!, "Philly Airport Is Horrible"
We all woke up on Thursday and showered and packed. The bellhop took our luggage and we decided to hang out at OPR. I got to go on the DVC tour at Saratoga Springs! What a beautiful hotel. And guess who might become members? That's right, my mom and dad! After the tour I ate lunch and went back to OPR.
Mears picked us up around 2:30 and we checked our bags at the airport. Our flight was delayed til 7:50, and we were supposed to take off at 5:40pm. So we sat, and sat, and sat...
The plane ride took about 2 hours. We left the lovely weather, clear blue skies, and palm trees for dead trees and freezing temps. It took us 45 minutes to wait for our bags. U.S. Air at Philly is horrible.
I slept on the limo ride home and didn't talk to anyone at all because I was experiencing major post-trip depression.
We got home around 1am.
I miss Florida and WDW!!!
This is the worst feeling right now, ever.
However ... My mom and dad surprised me. Our next trip will be next year, possibly the first two weeks of December!
Basically, this trip was magical, as always. I couldn't have asked for a better vacation. I love WDW!!!
