Spring Break Survival Thread

So in the next few weeks it will officially be spring break time at dland. I consider next week to be the start of it myself but everyone starts it differently. I'm heading to the parks next week one day (havent decided which yet) around 1 so I can let you know how crowds are looking for those coming in the next few weeks during the week.

Granted it could get crazy busy fast over the next few weeks. SoCal Passes being blocked out the last week of march and 1st week of april will help out though hopefully

Thanks in advance for the info! In general, do most AP holders buy the SoCals vs. Premium/Deluxe? I know the general mix is much different than Florida, sounds like the majority of guests are always "locals."

18 days left until we hop on a plane! *happy dance*

Awesome, awesome! I feel like I've been planning this trip FOREVER, now I'm starting to panic I don't have time to get everything done! :lmao:

Do you already have your tickets/APs? I'm trying to decide if I should buy in advance or buy onsite at the hotel. I probably won't do ARes - I could save $20 on the 4 tickets, but if I use my Disney Visa on Disney purchases I"ll get about $200 in reward dollars, so we'll probably buy direct (vs. $100 if we buy from ARes).

Any downside to waiting to buy at the hotel?

I think it's a mix. However with prices raising last year a lot of people who I know including myself went from always getting a deluxe to getting a SoCal to save money

So I think this weekend "officially" starts the Spring Break period - congrats to all of you going in the next few days!! Let us know how it goes!

we had an amazing weekend at DLR! the weekend was pretty busy!

the Carsland wide right suggestion WORKS! we got in line at 9am, gates opened at 930, ropedrop at 10am, we were about 15 rows back from the ropes....wait by the time we got to the ride was 35 minutes! the queue is so cool and helps pass the time quickly! I do recommend riding it both in the day time and at night!

can't wait to go back in 3 weeks for my DD's 13th bday trip!

Hi, we'll be visiting from the 28 march to 6th april, staying at the Hyatt Regency, first time for our kids, 11 and 4 , hubby and i haven't been in 16 years so that will be interesting.
Getting ready to battle the crowds,lol:cool1:

Welcome! We're starting to get so excited (well, DH and I, as we're still attempting to surprise the kids, but I keep messing up little things I say, oh well)

We leave Saturday :cool1: ! I'll try and post on crowds after Sunday, our first day at the parks, which I'm expecting to be the busiest. Weekend and hot weather. With weather cooling down and it being the weekdays for the rest of our trip, I'm hoping for quieter days after Sunday.

Woo hoo, congrats! ;) Can't wait to hear how it goes!

two weeks and three days before we head back :dance3:

I started my TR for the dance DLR trip yesterday...link in my siggie!

We leave on Thursday for a week. We get there Thursday afternoon but won't be going to the parks until Friday. We probably just walk around DTD once settled in the hotel.

Finally started packing today for the kids.

We still have 3 weeks before we leave - but can you believe DH broke his right arm (he's right-handed)!!:headache:

I am so apprehensive and the crowds for first week in April are going to be gnarly too...:scared1:

Acccccck!!

Spring break trip planned as of yesterday!! [April 4 & 5]
This is soooooo last minute for us but we're going for it!

We were there last summer in August and in July 2010, so we've got some summer trips under our belt, but we had 5-day hoppers then. This time we only have 2 days @DLR and I don't think we'll get hoppers. Looking forward to a new way of touring Disneyland and CA.

We are going the same days and skipping on getting the hoppers too! I am a little less enthusiastic about the new way of touring - we shall see!

yeah, just when I thought I was a Disney-pro now I'm limited to 2 days, no park hopping, and using Fastpasses within the window of time given...we shall see as well.

hope your hubby arm heals well! my dd broke her arm the last week of school last year and had to wear a cast for 6 wks. maybe he could get characters to sign it! Cool souvenir!
