We traded to RCI Wyndom Shearwater resort in Princeville last week and were fairly happy with the resort. The Shearwater is part of the old Pahio resort group and is situated on the cliffs overlooking the ocean at Princeville. The resort really needs to be updated but you can't beat the location. The grounds are beautiful and the resort is very close to Hanalei which has the only night life for miles. If you're trading to Kauai you want to relax, lie on the beach, snorkle and play golf. I think this has got to be the most laid back of all the Hawaiian Islands.
I liked the two bedroom, two master bath with jacuzzi tubs concept but the furniture was very outdated and no flat screen tv's. But, would I trade there again? Probably. We really liked Kauai (even better than Maui). The restaurants were very good and the activities were outstanding. We snorkled in great beaches, took a whale watch catamaran that toured the Napali Coast, Kayaked a very scenic river and soaked in some great views on Hanalei beach.
I still miss II and the great trades we made to Mariotts and Westins but still think we got alot of value for our points.

Thanks for the report. We love Kauai for the laid back attitude and beautiful island paradise. I'm already looking forward to going back in 2012.

Thanks...I have been curious about this. Kinda of the same reaction I had in Aruba. Great location..but outdated. Wasn't the Disney quality I am used to.
