Spring Break or late June - which week would you pick and why?

We've gone the past few years during spring break and the summer (we didn't go spring break this year). I enjoy both but I think the crowd levels are likely to be higher for your spring break trip if it's leading up to Easter. The weather is usually more pleasant in April however. It depends on how you like to tour - if you go often enough to WDW that you (or your kids) aren't going to be disappointed by riding fewer rides or doing more of the less popular rides then spring break is good. You'll also have the Flower and Garden festival which is nice. You can maximize your riding with having a good touring plan but it's getting up early, etc. The pools always seem more crowded on spring break (to me - I don't always swim). I think people are perhaps excited to be able to be in warm weather and want to enjoy the pool. There's something nice about going once school is out...it seems more relaxing when you're not headed back to school when you get home. :)

For my family, late June. We can handle the heat by leaving midday for a resort pool break and returning later in the evening, or scheduling theater attractions for the mid part of the day, as they are air conditioned and usually have shorter waits. Heat beats crowds for us, and summer now seems to have smaller crowds than spring break times.

I would definitely do June. we've gone in the summer with our kids and do the same strategy for the day that you do. You just need to have a lot of water and get some air conditioning, because yeah, of course it is hot. however spring break and easter reach maximum capacity for the park. I would never want to deal with that type of crowd situation unless there was no option. Plus, June is easier to pack for. shorts, tank tops, done.

Just found this thread, and loving all the opinions because we are also debating Spring Break (although our break is the first week in April and not Easter week), and June. We are leaning towards June because of the (possibility) of smaller crowds than spring break and more flexibility with the dates. The major draw back to June is weather. A lot of people have chimed in about heat and humidity, but can someone talk about rain? Our last trip was a few years ago at the end of August. We had some days with brief afternoon showers and that was no big deal, but due to the outer storm bands from a small hurricane in the gulf we ended up getting down poured on our last couple nights and nighttime entertainment was canceled. It sounds like a June is the rainiest month in Orlando, But are we talking 1-2 hour showers, or complete washouts?

Also heat and humidity in June worse, better, or equal to late August?

As every day passes in June, it gets a bit more humid. I personally find that it “feels” worse in June simply because my body is out of practice from heat. It doesn’t bother me as much in July, August or September.

Some of our wettest trips ever have happened in June. While not all day, definitely in the 4 hour range (especially during afternoon pool time). But there’s just no way to predict when and if that will happen again.
