OK Dis'ers, I need somewhere that will be warm, hopefully with a beach on the ocean, at the end of March. We are a family of four, kids will be 9 and 12, so we don't want to be near night clubs or college age spring breakers. I'm thinking something like Wildwood, NJ but farther south. We considered Aruba but it was too expensive. We are already taking a 10 day vacation in the summer so I would like a short (3 night/4 day) trip to somewhere warm, and inexpensive, not necessarily a tourist trap type place. I know we will have to fly (from NY). All I really want is a beach and some warmth and sun, but realistically we need to have SOMETHING for the kids to do. Mini golf, a Six Flags type park or water park... ???? I would consider WDW, but I don't think I can handle the crowds and I know it would be too expensive. My first thought was Florida, but which beach??? What is Cape Canaveral like? Is there a beach? Is the space center cool? Will it be warm enough for the beach at the end of March? I would be open to any suggestions. TIA!!!!!!!!!

Tropical Shores in Siesta Key, FL
It is quiet there and only the beach but it should be warm enough to get in the water. But, not sure if there's enough action there for you or not.

Whatever you do, stay away from South Padre Island. Texas, if you want a family place without the college crowd. It's a BIG college spring break spot with lots of partying and drinking going on.

What about Naples? We stayed at the Ritz there and it was beautiful! The kids loved it. Or, Marco Island, Sanibel Island.

There are some AWESOME deals on 3/4 night cruises out there.

These are all good places. My parents are in Bonita Springs which is between Naples and Sanibel. We go for our Spring Break, and it is crowded but with families. In this area, the college crowd is at Ft. Meyer's. My aunt and uncle love Amelia Island too. It is more secluded, I believe.

Have you thought of Miami Beach? It's warm, gorgeous beaches, you can drive down to the Keys if you want to... we used to go there for our winter break when I was younger and loved it!

We hope to go to Saint Augustine for spring break this years, God willing and the Creek don't rise.

I second the Cruise idea. We are taking the kids on their second cruise during spring break. They had such a blast on the last one. They don't know we are going on one again - giving it to them as part of their Christmas Present. Tons of stuff to do for both kids and adults or do as little as possible.
