Spring Break Help

Hi, I need some advice. My family can either do a trip for 5 nights: Fri 9/21-wed 9/26/2018 or 7 nights: 4/20-4/27/2019.

I would like to pick the april one because we can go a full week, BUT Easter is on sun 4/21. Do a lot of schools have off the entire Easter week or is this week beyond spring break? If it's a very crowded week, we would choose the shorter September one. The September week is a risk for hurricanes.

In either case we would do 4-5 days in the parks, but the 5 day trip would be more rushed. I'm looking for the least amount of crowds, as I know there are no slow periods anymore.

The weeks surrounding Easter are a couple of the busiest weeks out of the entire year. I'd go with the September trip.

I'd pick spring break. I'm a teacher and I've done spring break and Easter trips many times. I've done long weekend 4-5 day September trips the past 3 years to try something different (and my county started giving us 2 days off for Rosh Hashanah so it's been easy to take long weekend trips), and after this year's September trip, I think I'm done with that time of year for awhile. Don't get me wrong, I had great trips, and airfare was SO much cheaper, but between the shortened Magic Kingdom hours due to constant Halloween parties, the Food and Wine crowds at Epcot, and the threat of a hurricane making me worry starting weeks before the trip, I'd rather go over our spring or summer breaks. The short park hours and reduced ride capacity make the parks seem more crowded than they are anyway, so it's not like September is a huge bonus crowd wise anymore. The weather in April will be gorgeous, and yes, the crowds will be high, but it's so nice to not have to worry about being out the MK by 7, or avoiding Epcot completely on the weekends.

The only thing that would make me pick September over spring break is cost. Our airfare is almost half of what it is over spring break when we go in September. Hotels are also much cheaper too. I looked into going this coming April for a night or two over my spring break, and the rates were ridiculous.

I'd do spring break too. When Easter is that late, I think plenty of areas opt for an earlier spring break instead of Easter week. I also prefer a spring trip vs a fall trip.

The weeks surrounding Easter are usually slammed. Insanely slammed. If lower crowds are your thing, September is the better choice.

I would go with fall. We always go spring for big trip but wait till early May when Spring break is over. We just like the relaxed pace in the fall. Sure Epcot is busy with the F&W but we always go there for lunch and during the week evenings. Then, when everybody slams Epcot on Sat/Sun night, we head to other parks.

Thanks all! We will go with September. We won't be able to handle the Easter week crowds, especially my husband, who has no interest in Disney in the first place.
