Will the late Easter holiday have any effect on March crowds, or is it going to be jam packed from March to early May anyway. I have a friend going and they asked me. I have only been during Spring Break once and since I swore never again, I honestly have no idea. I thought I would ask here!

I think it will spread out the Spring Break crowds a bit more than usual this year, but I think all the weeks will still be high-crowd weeks, with the week between Palm Sunday and Easter still being the worst.

We have done March in the past and it wasn't too bad, but I am with you I will never go during Spring Break again ever!

We went during March in 2009 (3rd week) and the crowds were not bad the whole time. The weekends tended to have a few more people, but by Sunday night, MK was a ghost town and we stayed there until almost 2am going on every/any ride we wanted with no wait at all. From what I heard, the "locals" had all left for home and the congestion went down.

With a late easter this year, not everyone has a spring break that is not connected to easter. With that being said, those who do have a spring break seem to be spread out all through the month and not focused on any one period.

We have been to DW in August, July, October, and March and March was our favorite by far. Dry weather, cool temperatures, humidity is not too bad. So even with crowds, the heat/weather does not chase you away from the parks you can go as long as you want and not feel like you are going to die.

:cheer2:

With the way Disney has expanded their park hours for March, the peak rates they are using on hotel rates, and the changes in my touring plans projections; it looks like from the second week of March onward through Easter, Disney is anticipating pretty heavy crowds. :surfweb:

I agree with the theory that it may be a little more spread out this year with Easter being late April...Like her our District is March 21-25...so I think March will have some more crowded times than others...than I think they may thin out a smidge after March..until the week of Easter and then pick back up...

Thank you everyone. Their spring break is the week of March 14. I think she is crazy and I told her so. ;)

If the TP projection I have is what actually happens, your friend is gonna swear after that trip that SHE'LL never be doing Spring Break Again either. :scared1::lmao:

I can't give out subscription information, but I can say that the projections look very similar to Easter week and the Historical numbers from last year for that same week were actually WORSE than Easter week :headache:

We already booked for 3rd week in March. I have done Disney many times and this was an impromtu trip booked a few weeks ago. We are going with new disers. This will be their second trip, By the sounds of it we will hit must sees and spend the rest of the time at the pool with yummy frozen drinks....Wish us LUCK!!!!

:thumbsup2 March is our favorite time too, given that we need to go when school is out which means summer (too hot and humid and crowded), Christmas (busier than even spring break and unpredictable weather), October (just for a long weekend -- still hotter and more humid than I like). March is crowded, but has super weather. I have also found getting up early for rope drop and following a touring plan really makes the theme parks manageable. We'll be there the third week of March, just two and a half weeks away -- can't wait!

We went March last year, but our spring break was different than the schools in FLorida/South were, so our week wasn't bad at all. The touring plans crowd calendar shows 3/11-3/28 being busy but before and after days are not too bad (6's and 7's).

Well said. We truly enjoyed our March trip last year... best WDW trip yet!

Am I doomed for our trip from March 8-15th? Ugh, I hate massive crowds!

That depends. Do you need to ride every ride, multiple times? If so, then you may be in for some problems. If you're able to enjoy the rides you like, and treat your vacation like the "leisure" time that it is, then you'll be just fine. :thumbsup2

All crowds are doable with the right frame of mind!
