We have to change our plans from going in December to another time. We are very disappointed but maybe this is for the best for our first trip. Spring Break works for our family but I am concerned about the crowds. Spring Break is March 17 - 25.

Thanks for your help.

When is Easter? People worry so much about Spring Break, but really the week before and the week after Easter are the most crowded. As long as you have a plan, use FP etc., you will be fine, and the weather is fantastic!!!

Easter is the 8th of April. I, too, am planning on a Spring Break vacation to WDW. Our break is March 26th - 30th. I'm hoping it will be an ok time to go.

I asked this in another post, and I'd like to ask it here... would late March be better than early July? (We went this past July around the 4th (but not on it), and it was miserable.)

Sorry you had to move your trip. I know it sucks. Just keep on keeping on... March will be here before we know it!

Late March while not a real slow time of year with so many spring breaks, etc... is more comfortable weather wise - can still be quite warm - but no July hot/humid, and generally pretty dry as far as rain!

I think you will find it a nice time to visit!

If you can stay at a park for a long day you will be fine. If you are used to doing everything in 5 hrs you will have problems. We went at easter 2 yrs ago and had a great trip. It was crowded but with a plan and fast pass we were able to ride everything because the parks are open so much longer. We got there at opening rode in the morning did shows or took it easy when packed and then rode again in the evening- MK was open till midnight. You need to think ahead for food because those lines will be swamped, just eat early or late but it will still be a line. The only thing that got to me after a week was there was always people! never any open areas everywhere all the time people!

Oops didn't know one of the reasons we have to go at school break times was signed in!

We went last March during spring break. The weather was great and the crowds were managable. By managable I mean you have to realize you are going to Disney and plan accordingly. Like everybody else will tell you, use the fastpass on your "must do" list. If I remember correctly, the longest line we waited in without FP was Crush's turtle talk and that's because it's more of a show then a ride.
We've also been during June and it can be miserable, hot and crowded.

Plan ahead and have fun!!!!

The weather can vary greatly, but I would never call it "really warm" in March. (we are southerners though) The last time we went in late March there was cool snap and we were chilly, it was too cold to swim (like highs in the 60's) and we needed light jackets in the evenings and mornings. Look at weather.com for averages. I doubt it would ever get above 80 degrees.

Spring break is the only time we can go. Weather is wonderful and the crowds are doable. In '05 we where there on Easter Sunday and again the crowd was doable. Just go and have a blast.

A good touring plan will make all the difference. You'll want something that includes "best days" information because there really are factors that affect the crowd level in each particular park. The Unofficial Guide has great touring plans - I don't recall whether they have spring break specific information. Tour Guide Mike - www.tourguidemike.com - will definately have Spring break / Best days info to help you develop your touring plan. Build A Better Mouse Trip - www.buildabettermousetrip.com - will do a custom plan and they include best days info and specific information for Easter or spring break.

We went late March/early April of last year and crowds weren't too much of a problem. We were constantly able to keep switching our ADR's around last minute (like hour before last minute), which is always a good sign. We woke up early and got to the park by opening and did all the major attractions. We didn't have a big problem with crowds until the end of our stay (the week leading up to easter) which thankfully for us was only our last day!

As you can see by my signature, Spring Break is the ONLY time we go. In all those years I don't ever remember the weather being bad or cool. The closer to Easter we were the bigger the crowds. I believe the dates you plan on being there will be very manageable, perhaps even light since it is half way between Bike Week and Spring Break. Have Fun.
