Helloo everyone, I’m back from another mostly wonderful DVC vacation. Here are the day by day high, low, and nolights (mix of good and bad) .

Sat Mar 21– All highlights - Drive to STL hotel night before flight, no issues.

Sun
Highlights - Flights to ATL and MCO uneventful. Arrive, drive, check in to our Inn Room at Vero Beach smoothly and seeing Ocean by 2:10 pm. – Stock up at WalMart for supplies, find great restaurant NINOs for Dinner
Lowlights – grumpy at Wal-Mart due to early wake up and hunger, no more 6:15 am flights for our crew in the future.

Mon –
Highlights Beach, Pool, Dodgeball, Wine class, Green Cabin dinner (appetizers, burger, drinks)
Lowlights – Windy, Man-O-War (slight sting to my leg, and DWs finger) a dead tentacle blew onto me with a bit o venom left. Would hate to get stung by a live one or recently washed up one.

Tues –
Highlights – Beach, Pool, Tennis, more NINOs
Lowlights – DD heat/allergy rash (quickly cured with Benedryl) -
Nolights - Gloria Estefan’s new boutique hotel in Downtown Vero looks good on the outside and high quality decor, but the pool was very small and I would not want to stay there)

Wed –
Highlights- Beach walk, Pool, Tennis, relaxing
Lowlights – None
Nolights Capt Hirams (food reviews from our group were mixed, décor was fun) – probably won’t come back.

Thur
Highlights- Beach walk, Pool, Tennis, Mini Golf (free on Member day), relaxing
Lowlights – None
Nolights – Mulligans Sand Bar across from Ocean Grill (food reviews from our group were mixed but most did not like, décor was fun) – definitely won’t come back.

Fri –
Highlights – AKV (savannah view on value points), Lava Smoothie at Pool, Culinary Tour with samples (free food in WDW are you kidding me?!!) Jiko (Excellent meal), Monorail, Viewing Wishes and Water parade on the boat from GF to Poly to MK to catch bus back
Lowlights – checking out of VB, didn’t want to leave

Sat Mar 28
Highlights – relaxing morning, lots of animals and pictures, More Lava Smoothie at the pool, Chik-Fil-A on way to airport – extending the vacation by one day, unintended.

Lowlights - checking out of AKV, didn’t want to leave – Having our 2008 vehicle die on I-70 one mile from the hotel – Having to stay one more night, then towed back to Columbia

Overall, we had a great time and are sad it will be awhile before our next trip. We borrowed over half our 2010 points for this trip, so most likely it will be 2011 before we’ll do another DVC trip. But if we win the lotto, we’ll be back sooner, and be adding on too!

Peace,
G4L

YOU... are an analytical person.:goodvibes

Glad you had fun at VB. My favorite place. :beach:

Peace and prosperity to you...

Vero is a great place :thumbsup2. Glad you had a good time, sorry to hear about the stings from man o wars, hope they are gone before I go in May. DH and I went to Mulligans last year and neither of us liked it either, won't go back, meals were not good.

Hey--At vero same time as you guys! We had a great time as well once we made it to the resort(long story....) Yeah the jellys were all over the beach but hard to miss with that blue color. I was in the ocean quite a bit and never had a problem. We did Mulligans as well and it was only so so for us. I was trying to find some cheap fish shack that might not be the nicest place but the food and price make up for it, any ideas? Shutter's was great for anything off the oak grill but the rest or sides not so good. Had fun with MaryAnn on the bike tour and wine tasteing(was that you with ankle sting). The dj day at the pool was fun due too the "dancing ladies", campfire sing along had to make ya laugh, and gotta love slide races. Oh yeah were is the Walmart? Did Publix and the Dollar Store got 2 kites for a $ and kite flying was a highlight of the trip. Glad ya had a good trip, :cool1:

We were at AKV when you were! That resort is great...we also were sad when we checked out yesterday.

We also did a Wishes cruise, but from the Contemporary on Thursday. We were with some disboard people and it was a great experience. This is the fourth time we hooked up with people via the Theme Park board and each time it's been great.

Next year we'll go to Vero, I'm glad you enjoyed your stay there so much!!!

Bobbi:goodvibes

wulfekamp - car thing was a bummer, but could have been a lot worse, thankfully we had AAA plus and they covered almost the entire tow, repairs covered under warranty, but they did find a nest of mice living under the hood  They moved in the week the car was parked in the hotel lot

zev - We were the family of four at the wine tasting, brought our 13 yo son who got to observe and learn:cool2: He did notice as the class went on, the participant's verbal volume and quantity increased:rotfl: There is a wal-mart further down HWY1 past Publix in Sebastian, and another in Vero Beach off of 60 going West from downtown, but it's on the Eastbound side, there's a Target and a mall in the same area.

bobbiwoz - We also loved AKV and definitely will try to stay there again. Glad you enjoyed the Wishes cruise, ours was just good timing with the ferry boats :thumbsup2 We did pass a yacht with a good group on board, maybe you were on it?

It was a great trip, glad everyone else had great trips too.

Peace,
G4L
