Spring Advantage 2012

What number did you call? and which park did you apply to? I applied to DL and havent gotten a welcome email yet. I applied yesterday afternoon. Please please please respond!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I want this internship more than anything in the whole wide world!

This is a WDW number. Not sure if it's the same or not, but if not, maybe they can give you a DL number.

(407) 828-1736

Good luck

Google says DL Casting is 800.766.0888. I called it to test and that is correct.

I called. they said to call again tomorrow if I havent recieved an email by then. Im sooooooooo EXCITED~! THIS WOULD BE A DREAM COME TRUE FOR ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:yay:

I just got an email from Disney that the College Program recruiting season was underway....Thanks Disney but I figured that out already.:rotfl2:

Phone interview tomorrow morning!
So excited and scared!
I really want to be a character attendent!
It seems similar to stage managing in a way, so it relates like perfectly with my major but would also be something new and fun and different.

Good luck! I had mine at 11:15 this morning; was scheduled for 11, but my interviewer called a bit late. We talked for 22 minutes, and she mentioned Transportation several times, which is awesome! She could probably tell I was nervous at the beginning, but I felt a lot more comfortable within 2 to 3 minutes of talking with her. I feel it went well, though she did not mention how long it would be before I heard; I also was told I am not being considered for a Character Performer role, which is all right by me.

Best of luck to everyone! Now I'm off to check my email and dashboard fanatically for the next 3 weeks. :chewy:

Almost 48 hours after I applied and I have yet to recieve an email! help? I called yesterday and they said it is still in progress. what does that mean?

Thanks!
Mine was supposed to be at 10:45 but did not start till a few minutes after 11. We talked for 15 minutes. It would have been way less, but I had a decent amount of questions for her. We did not talk much about role specifics but more about my past work experience and where I was headed in life and stuff like that. She did say she was really excited for me to find out about whether I got in the program. So hopefully that is a good sign!
I wonder why you are not being considered for a Character Performer?
I told her character performer was my 2nd choice, and we still talked about it a bit.
My interviewer said that I would hear in 2 to 3 weeks.
I check my dashboard so much!
I have not got any sort of email since my interview though. Have you?

i had a phone interview today and i had three questions that i wasnt really prepared for:

1. what part of the housing situation are you most looking forward to?
2. If you were working merchandise or QSFB and you had a guest in front of you, but the phone was ringing as well, how would you handle the situation?
3. In what ways would you provide superb guest service? (I know, easy right? i drew a blank and had to think for a second)

I was also asked about job experience, if i had any cash handling experience, or experience talking in front of large groups of people. if i was able to work indoors and out doors, comply with the disney look, and of course, why i want to work for disney :)

ALSO: if i don't have a car to take with you to disneyland, and you applied for DLR & WDW, do you think they will likely send me to WDW? She asked and i said no, and i would actually prefer to go to WDW now that i'm thinking about it, didn't know if anyone knew if that was part of a deciding factor or not...

Thanks!

No email yet, and nothing's changed on the Dashboard lol

I had indicated Moderate for several roles; she commented on the amount I had selected (interest of most things, save for BBB), but we discussed that Character probably wouldn't be the best fit for my area of study and career path. We discussed working inside and outside, and other possibilities in Transport, such as piloting a boat.

Good to hear you asked a decent amount of questions; I didn't have any at the end, but did ask several throughout, so I hope she picked up on that. There was good feedback, I think, in regard to her repeating some points I made, and vice versa; in one of the questions about how I "would make magic for Guests if I was in Housekeeping," and I mentioned how it is important to make them feel as though they are "coming home," etc., and she seemed to like that.

Cheers to the waiting game!

Yeah, its a large deciding factor. They do not provide transportation to Disney Land. You have to take public transportation. So them knowing you have a car there is very important in their eyes. Thats why i didn't even apply to DL.

My interview is in a half hour.. trying to waste some time haha

Oh god, that question!!!! I was just asked it and i completely failed! I couldn't even give a proper answer because i froze.:confused::confused: If i don't get in that's why.

As an alumni of Spring 2011 what are my chances of being re-accepted? I was a hard worker and my manages loved me, but i bombed that interview. Can i call one of my managers and have them put a good word in for me?

Thanks for the answer about the car, and yeah. i basically froze on that one too. not a situational question i was prepared for in the slightest.. how did you answer? I said i would ask the guest in front of me to wait while i put the person on the phone on hold... i'm still not sure how i would handle the question. if i get rejected it will be because of that question as well. :/

This was my first interview but i feel like i totally failed it :(

I didn't answer it, thats the thing. I was like "uhhh ummm uhh, thats a hard one *nervous laugh*. Then she said "we will come back to it" and we never did.

After the interview i realized i should have said. "See if there are any other cast members around to help me out, and if not politely excuse myself and answer the phone. Since i was talking to the guest first i would ask the caller if i can put them on hold. Then apologize to the original guest for the interruption. After I've helped the first guest i will go back to the caller and thank them for holding"

I had that one too! She asked if I was in the middle of a task, a guest came up, and at the same time the phone is ringing, what do I do? I said I'd help the guest - I can come back to my task later, the caller can either call back or be helped by someone else, but the guest came up to me now for help and I need to deliver.

I just tried to apply today, but it wouldn't let me log in. Do I have to make a new account? I thought you could just carry over your application from the previous semester (Fall 2011). So, I tried to reset my password, because I know for sure I have the right email, but the reset email (or the subsequent 4 or 5 I sent out) never made it to my inbox.:confused3

I don't want to fill out the whole darn thing again if I don't have to. I have homework breathing down my neck. Any suggestions? I really want to apply as soon as possible. I want to be in Anaheim next semester!!!!!:goodvibes
