Spring 2015 Dapper Day Planning Thread.

Long time reader, first time poster ;)

Our first Disney trip is next year, and coincides with dapper day (staying at the Fairfield from Sunday to Thursday)

I haven't found any link to the discounted Disneyland tickets on the official dapper day site, but did find the following in my Google searches (shortened via Google for easy linking and I needed to space it out to let me post it due to being a newbie, remove the space to make it valid ) goo. gl/XlINha

Is that the correct link for buying discounted tickets for use during the dapper day weekend/week? Hoping to buy them soon as the AUS/US dollar is steadily dropping making the upcoming holiday gradually more expensive ;)

Thanks for any help

Yes, that is the correct site, that is where we got ours. My dad got them in the mail a few weeks ago.

Thanks. It seems a much cheaper way to get tickets for that week
While we will be 'dappering' up for the afternoon/evening while our daughter is being looked after, we were planning on taking out daughter in the morning in more casual attire.. From what I've read there aren't any specific 'checks' regarding dapper day tickets? (just don't want to turn up on the morning and get interrogated if we aren't in 'dapper' attire)

Do I have anything to worry about?

Not to worry. No one is required to dress up. The tickets will be dated and are only valid for the time around Dapper Day , I think the week before and the week after.

Some 4 day park hopper's made a good xmas present..

The only downside is the 'convention' priced park hoppers dont get you access to one days 'early entry' like the normal park hopper tickets do... guess thats a trade off for the price difference

I believe if you're staying on site you still get the early entry/magic morning, whatever they are calling it for Disneyland hotel guests.

Thanks, but as I managed to score the Fairfield Inn for about $85/night(+tax) there was no way i could justify the more than double per night price of even the PP..

Still, with 4 days I'm sure i can survive without a single extra hour :)

Our family of 4 will be in Disneyland/DCA ON 2/28 & 3/1. I'm contiplating which park to do each day to avoids larger crowns?...I know probably impossible. :rotfl2:

I know DCA has several things going on cheerleaders on 2/28 & City Race on 3/1...and then theres Dapper Day. Looking for suggestions on which park to do each day. Staying offsite. :wizard:

Now that it is January I can finally set my sights on getting ready for Dapper Day. I'm excited! I attended fall DD in 2013 with a friend. This time my family is coming as well, and we will be traveling with my friend and her family. I'm organizing a family disneybound around the Tiki Room and Dole Whips. lol. Yellow dress with a pinapple/cocktail umbrella hat for me, and tiki theme bowling shirts for my husband and my boys.

I ordered this dress last night: http://www.modcloth.com/shop/dresse...aign=order_confirmation&utm_term=[order_conf] I sure hope it fits well and is flattering. I'll probably top it with a white cardigan. The perennial question of course is what to wear for shoes... My go to black danskos won't work with this outfit, and last dapper day I got horrible blisters -- on the BOTTOMS of my feet! Don't want to do that again...

We are staying at PPH, and I am hoping that they will be able to upgrade us to a view room, but not counting on it.

Is anyone else disneybounding?

Love your dress choice! I haven't decided what I'm going to wear yet. Too many choices in my closet. Though I did get a cute voodoo vixen circle skirt for Xmas that would be great! Footwear wise I like fluevogs, I have a bunch of their flats that are super comfy to wear all day. Another option are plain canvas sneakers like keds, they would look great with that dress.

I'll be traveling solo and staying at the DLH.

Can't wait to check out the expo! And see everyone else in their dapper wear!

I am SOOOO excited for dapper day this year! I went last year wearing snow white colors (in my profile pic). I recently bought a dress I couldn't resist on ebay, but I also might be doing a dapper disneybound couple with my bff, tbd.

I also had this adorable dress made using vintage Disney paint-a-rainbow sheets for my dd3. This isn't the actual dress, just the one I sent to the person making it.

OMG!!! That is the cutest little dress in the world!! I also love your big gingham check dress.

We have our reservations, but lots of things are keeping us somewhat up in the air again. Here's hoping! If we do go, disneyluvr2 has her outfit all planned. I am not sure what I will wear yet. I want to steal her idea, hehehehe. If the weather isn't too hot, I'll wear my disneybounding outfit I planned for last year (Haunted Mansion). lcasa always cooks up something amazing from old dress patterns and vintage accessories. She even makes her own pillbox hats! Those guys really put the pressure on me, LOL. I don't want to be the plain one in the group! :upsidedow

I was soooooo HOT last year. Petticoats and heat, whewwww, gotta feel for the ladies of the past. And I felt that the cardigan from my outfit last year really tied it all together, so I refused to take it off, hahaha.

I adore dapper days and people watching, but last year was insanely busy, busier than I have ever seen DL. As long as the cutie that will be wearing the adorable rainbow dress doesn't act like a psycho, we just might make it :lmao:

Super cute dress! I love it. I have the same fabric at home (found it at a second hand store). I've collect vintage Disney (and other licensed character) sheets and use them to make dresses, skirts, duvet covers, etc.

Hey DizMe, there's no reason you can't use my Dapper Day theme this year. We can both dress with the same theme, yet look totally different, like when we did the Mary Poppins theme. Start planning! :D

Hi
SO excited when I found out that we are going to be there for Dapper Day. No idea what I am going to wear yet (or if I will be able to talk husband and son into it) but my daughter will be all over it! I am planning to treat myself to a new dress from Blame Betty if I lose a little weight before the trip. :)

Ugh, that's my trouble right now. I need to lose some weight! I started gaining holiday pounds about 7 or 8 months ago :rotfl:

I didn't go to DD last spring. Was it hot? Man, the 2 times we went to DD in Sept, it was roasty-toasty. I thought spring would be cooler. It does make it more challenging to dress up and still stay cool when it's so hot, especially with vintage looks.

Ohhh, I forgot you didn't make it DizMe, after all that work you had done for your costume last year :guilty:

It was hot for me, may have just been the outfit, but it was hot. Add the crowd and it was like a sauna.

and I also need to lose some weight, I lack motivation lately. I don't even have that fake desire to do a massive new year resolution, lol.

I didn't get to go last spring either, but I remember people commenting that it was really warm. Not as warm as it was for the fall DD, but still very warm. I think I'd almost have it warm than really cold. I'd hate to go to all that work dressing up, then have to cover up with a coat. Let's hope for some perfect 70's weather!

I just ordered a dress from Eshakti for DD, so I may be doing the diet dance too when it comes! I'm crossing my churros that it fits!:lmao:
