Spring 2011 Professional Internships

Does everyone who applies get a phone interview? Or do they just select the top resumes? I don't have any work experience in my field of study. The internship I'm applying for does require a transcript, and I have a 4.0 major gpa. I hope they weigh the transcript heavily if they dont give every applicant an interview.

I believe it depends on your field. I thought the science interviews looked more closely at coursework/resumes. I also thought that everyone had the 1st interview to determine the basics (Disney look, etc) before moving forward in the process. Seems like I had applied for one (it's been awhile!) that after going through the first interview, I received an email telling me they had received my information and if they needed anything more, they'd let me know. I thought it also said that they may or may not call for an interview and that should not serve as an indication of anything.

Basically, my 2nd interviewer told me not to give up unless I'd gotten a rejection email or the start date for the PIs had passed.

i'm a marketing major and just applied to 4 PIs. i'll be graduating in december, but i also applied for the regular CP just in case i don't get accepted this time around.

i applied for social media, youth events, casting employment coordinator, and youth sales PIs. crossing my fingers for any of these!! hopefully it won't take 4 months to hear back!

This seems odd... a friend of mine posted for 2 PIs last night and an hour later recieved rejections. Has that happened to anyone else? I'm thinking something may be wrong, Disney Casting is never that fast at anything!

I've had that happen a few times, but with regular apps not the PI. I wonder if they use a keyword program for the initial filter.

I know they scan resumes and if you don't make it past the computer, a person never sees it. But you know what should have been on the resume, so if you helped them, it should have gotten through. Maybe have your friend call up and check?

I told her to call, I looked at her resume and so did three of her Managers. I'm hoping it was just a glitch? Thanks for the info ladies - we should do lunch again!

So, does anyone have any updates. I am still wait on my Career Planning and Development department to get back with me, so I can apply. The department head contacted our wdw campus rep. So after I hear back from her, i'm gonna apply. Has anyone had anymore interviews?

My friend called casting, some how the resume she used last spring was submitted again for the ones she just posted for. They fixed the problem and gave her a screening interview and was moved on, now she's playing that dreaded waiting game. Thanks again for the help!

Belle - why do you have to wait? I would go ahead and apply now and then figure out the school stuff later on. People who apply earlier have a greater chance of getting the screening interview. I hear all the time that people who wait until the end never hear anything.

So I applied for 6 PIs Saturday. I haven't received any emails other than the thanks for applying and this requires an assessment. I know it's only been 1 day really, but I'm still nervous. How long after you apply does it take for them to request a phone interview?

It was about 1 week for me.

I got an email this morning saying I had been identified as a strong candidate based on my resume and transcript and to call and set up a screening interview! At least I didn't get a rejection email. I'm so excited!

I just got a rejection letter for Theme park operations MI. I didn't expect to get that one. I just thought it'd be a fun job. Oh well 1 down, I haven't been rejected from all 6 I applied for yet.

I've had my phone interview. I'm in the waiting queue now. I applied for four positions in managment. So far I've only got a rejection from the theme park one. I to didn't expect that one as I have no real background in the arena. Good luck to you all.

So I have my phone interview tomorrow morning at 8:40, then I have an interview at local company at 10:00. I'm SOOOO nervous, what kind of questions do they ask you in your initial interview?

I have my first phone interview tomorrow! I applied for the Disney Vacation Club Marketing Internship and am hoping that since my last job with Disney was with the vacation club that I will be able to pass onto the next round!

I have a second interview tomorrow afternoon at 1:30, for finance and accounting PI! I'm so nervous! Anybody know what sort of questions they will ask?

Hey guys... I applied for 3 PIs today... just curious, generally how long did everyone wait to hear back about either getting rejected or to schedule a phone interview? A few days? A week? 2 weeks? Just trying to get a general idea.
