:(

I wish I knew why.

My recruiter said that she would be looking over pending applications this week so I should hear something next week. That's great but I want to know why i'm pending. I didn't want to make her mad since she makes the final decision so I just let it go. This whole thing is making me sick. I don't know what i'll do if I don't get in.

It is a fair question to ask your recruiter. Unless you have been annoying them with other things that weren't so important (like really annoying them), then you shouldn't worry about asking them.

But, you may already know why, but it wasn't explained to you.

From what I have gathered over reading different message boards, there are multiple reasons why someone could be pending.

- need to do the background check
- need to do rehire paperwork
- going to an audition
- possibly someone did OK in their interview but not steller, so they are basically wait listed
- possibly someone extremely limited the number of jobs that they were interested in and those happened to be the ones that don't have a lot of openings. Again wait listed

Of course, I don't know your exact situation, but if it is any of the ones I mentioned above, that could be it.

the only way you will really know is to ask, though.

I suppose it could be because I only checked three options at first. I just didn't think they were that limited. But I re-sent in my checklist with 12 roles so I hope they can place me somewhere

I agree you should ask about it.

At this point I think i'll just let her make her decision this week and see what comes in the mail next week.

 I'm sorry. I wish I had an answer. Just hang in there!!

Thanks!

Does anyone know if you're rejected, can you apply for the one at Disneyland instead?

Ok so some history about me.

Last year I applied to the DCP for the first time. I applied for Spring 08' but had my recruiter change it to Spring Advantage while I was waiting to hear whether or not I had been accepted.

I had gotten accepted and was going to be doing QSFB. My arrival date was Jan. 28th 2008 (I paid the assesment fee thing) and I had gone to all of the Disney Meetings at my school (for people that had been accepted). About a month and a half before i was going to be heading down to FLA, I realized that I wouldn't be able to participate because of my grades. I let my recruiter know immediately (and the Disney people at my school) and they said they were glad I informed them and looked forward to me applying again for Spring 09'.

So the past year I have spent raising my grades and fixing all that I have messed up so that I can achieve my dream and be in the DCP. My grades are good enough this semester so that If accepted I would be able to take part in the program this time for real.

I went to the meeting at my school and figured out that the interviews wouldn't be in person, I was so nervous! I had my interview on Friday 10/24 and it went ok but I don't think I did aswell this time as I did last year. I am so nervous. I applied for Spring Advantage and marked off 9 roles. (Plus I emailed to have 2 more added but idk if this was a good or bad idea).

I'm hoping that I get accepted again but I am worried about my chances.

I never got to go work at disney but I was accepted and I did pay the assessment fee. Something tells me I would have been better off if I declined. We will see though. Hopefully I will be accepted again!

Anyone have any success stories that they can share similar to this?

Thanks!

I'm not sure. I know for DWCP you'd have to wait until the next semester to try again. I would think if you don't get accepted for the DWCP you'd have to wait until the next semester, but honestly I'm not sure.

Hey, I knew the grades had to be decent, but do you know what your grades HAVE to be to attend? I'm pretty well along in most classes, but my two friends who are pending arent doing so well. Could that be another reason why? ahh! :scared1:

You have to be in good standing with the school, which varies. Usually it just is a 2.0 GPA.

haha oh yeah there is... anyone who calls you wrong!

wait... i mean....
this post is the only exception

spring, have to figure out some stuff that would happen over summer before I know if I can extend or not
I also have some stuff I would have to get hammered out before I leave that I have to wait til I find out if I'm accepted to act on, like dealing with trying to extend my lease before I leave so I don't have to move all my stuff to storage after finals (likely in the snow) because otherwise I'm supposed to be there to extend it in person in February or I HAVE to be there in June to move out. My dad pays for my college and I'm pretty sure he'll help me out with rent here (I signed the lease and I can't leave me roommates hanging) so it's going to be by far the easiest if I can renew early.

Another big reason that I applied for sping and not spring advantage is if I get accepted but don't get one of my top choices I have the option to extend and switch roles if I don't have any reason to leave. I didn't want to apply for spring advantage and chance having to leave early cause that would look bad, and I know I'm going to do my best to keep my record SPOTLESS because I'm planning to try for a PI to hopefully eventually get a job at the Imagineering end of things.

Hey maybe one of you campus reps know,

how long do the presentations at the schools usually last? I know it differs, but I just need a general idea. :)

When i did the presentation at my school two years ago it think it lasted about and hour and half.
