spring 2009

yes! seems like everyone else hates it. i guess i would have to see it though to decide for sure haha. but it sounds kinda cute!

Haha, I was actually thinking that it didn't sound too bad as well, lol. I've definitely worked at enough places where I've had to wear horrible, waist-high, huge-hipped pants that make a dress sound like it might be a nice alternative. :rolleyes2

I am really not a dress person (I feel so rediculous in dresses). Thank goodness the roles I am picking for next time don't wear dresses (and hopefully I can get the role I have done already).

I'm really glad there's no chance of me having to wear a dress :P hahaha

hahaha. i dress like a librarian every day which isnt totally fun. and anyway, i guess i just like dressing up. :thumbsup2

Well it's been two weeks since my interview so I'm guessing I'll be getting my letter around Halloween or a little while after.... I can't stop thinking about it!!!! I just hope I got accepted.

Waiting is the hardest isn't it? Trust me though... the waiting is horrible but the minute you open up that acceptance letter (and I am sure you will get an acceptance letter) you realize waiting was a very small price to pay!!!! Hang in there!

Has anyone ever waited this long before?? I mean, it's getting close to two months

I waited that long for my second CP, but I had an audition.

Maybe that's why. I got it all straightened out though :thumbsup2 At least that's what they said.

if it's been 6 weeks, i'd contact recruiting, or your recruiter.

also, did you give multiple addresses? and check both?

I did and they said I should hear soon. I didn't give more than one address. Do rejection letters take longer to come or something?

I wouldn't think so. . .I know someone from my school that got one but i don't remember how long after he applied did that letter come.

I was just randomly pricing routers because the one I have her at my apartment now is mine and my 2 roommates depend on it for various computers/gaming consoles and it would be uncool of me to just take it with if I get accepted and using a google shopping search found a really good router (refurbished) for a great price for any router

It's on tigerdirect and i'm not sure how their site works so I just ordered it because it was so cheap. I'm going to switch it in and test it for at least a month to make sure it's not defective so I can return or exchange it if it is, it is covered by a manufacturer warranty so I'm not worried, I just want to make sure I can take advantage of it if I need to.

anyways here's the link if anyone wants/needs to buy a router for when they're down there

while it may be "uncool" to just take it. . .it is yours, and you did provide it. . .they aren't that pricey and I would suggest giving your roomies a heads up that they'll need to buy another. . .

I got the one I have from my dad for free when he replaced it cause it never worked right... it took me about an hour to replace the firmware with a 3rd party open source project and have it set up and working perfectly.

I was looking at prices to see what they run these days, thinking maybe I could give them my old one or a new one for christmas if they were a good price. It's important to me to be cool about it because even if I go to Florida I'll be depending on the internet connection here to use a Slingbox to be able to record and watch all the Cougar Basketball games, especially if I can't get every Thursday and Saturday off for over 2 months...
I've decided if the new one works it should have way better wireless signal which will be much more important in a larger apartment than the one here, so I'm going to leave my current one set up here but not actually give it to them, I will be moving back in when I get back.

well then that makes complete sense. lol

Are you talking about Tomato?

No, DD-WRT. I love it, I hardly ever have problems that brand new linksys routers have and when he got it it didn't even work right (only gave out 1 IP address, not exactly fulfilling its purpose as a router).

My guess is something blipped when they were loading the firmware for the first time... I can't imagine that something DIDN'T go wrong about then with how little it actually worked. The only problem I've ever had with it was when our power went out and came back on a bunch really fast... it reset to all defaults so I had to go in and set it up all over again.

Hey, everyone:

I had a quick question for anyone else out there who has applied. Has anyone else requested the March-August program or has done it in the past? That's what I plan on requesting during my interview tomorrow, as my university is actually still on quarters (at least until 2012). It seems like everyone who has been applying has been applying for either straight-up Spring or Spring Advantage. Just wondering if I was one of the only one actually trying for this. (If I am, maybe I have a better chance of getting accepted--who knows?)

Like I said, my interview's tomorrow, so wish me luck. I've been trying to read through the thread to prepare myself for some of the questions they ask, so I'm not completely blindsided by some of them. (Not that I could not answer them if I didn't have any prior knowledge of them; it just would take a bit longer and frankly, knowing the cell phone signal around here and how terrible it can be at times, I want to get done with the interview as soon as I can so that the signal doesn't pose too much of a problem.)

How do people usually answer the 'out of stock' question, though? I had an answer for that one but I'm unsure if it actually makes sense. ;)

I wasn't even given the option of March-August, just Spring and Spring Advantage.
You should be ready to pick one of those then figure out if you want to take 2 quarters off while you're waiting. You can always turn down the offer and apply again for fall when you would only miss one quarter, turning down an offer won't hurt your chances of being accepted later.

I said I would call different shops and see if they had the item.
