We were on the Joaquin-detoured Fantasy cruise a month or so ago. The Concierge host gave us tickets for the Princess meet and greet (we weren't really looking to do it; PJ just suggested it would be fun).
Well, we went to the Atrium just as it was getting underway, and my wife and I looked at each other and both pretty much said, "I really don't want to do this, do you?" She immediately began looking for a little girl to give the ticket to. As we were walking past the staircase, we saw a family with several children, one being a girl who looked like she was 7 or 8.
My wife approached the Mom and asked her if they were there to see the Princesses. She replied that they just came to watch. They had tried to get tickets, but none were available. My wife handed her ours, and asked if they would like it. It was so sweet to see--that lady got choked up and teary-eyed, and while thanking my wife, showed it to her daughter. Both of their expressions were priceless.
We went up to the 4th deck elevator landing and watched her as she was greeted by each of the Princesses (Ariel was particularly engaging with all the kids). Mom was taking pictures as fast as she could.
It ended up being the highlight of our trip.
