Hoping someone can help me please :goodvibes

We are going end November for a few days (4 adults, 2 children). Myself, DH & my two DDs have Dream APs. My DM & DSD do not. We want to stay in a Disney hotel.

Originally I thought we'd get an AP rate for one room and DM & DSD would need to buy a package with tickets. However, I read that Dream APs give up to 2 rooms discount.

So, how could we work it to the best advantage/cost?

Can I just put the two rooms on my AP and then buy DM/DSD day tickets (at 20% discount) each day? Would they be able to do EMH doing that as not sure what time tickets go on sale each day? Presuming you can't buy tickets in advance (say 4 day ticket) and get an AP discount?

Or, would I need to go into DM room 'on paper', she get a package (with tickets) and I just pay room tax rate with AP? Same for DSD but with DH as the AP holder.

Hope that makes sense? DM was talking about buying APs as it may be cheaper but if we can get a good enough deal (35-40% off) at launch of Xmas season then I don't think there is any need and may not save anything :confused3

Sorry this is long :headache:

Thanks in advance for any help :thumbsup2

I would think that if each annual pass can give discount for 2 rooms then they would expect that only one of the rooms would have the passholder in it.

Although the annual pass discounted room worked out cheaper for us with our passes I would think that buying tickets everyday would soon eat up those savings and you would probably be better of with DM and DSD getting a package as you originally planned. I guess the only way to know for sure would be to phone and ask once the brochure is released.

I would book a one-adult package for each room. that way your DM and DSD would have park tickets for the duration of your trip, and the rest of you can be added in whichever order you like to the rooms at check in.

incidentally, it doesn't matter which name the packages are booked under ie you could book it yourself as the lead one-adult on the package for the 2 rooms, and then give the park hopper ticket to your DM, or DSD. as long as there are adult park hopper tickets, they are not going to be asked for additional ID in the parks to use them for park entry.

Thanks Ladies :goodvibes

I still think it might be cheaper to do one AP rate per room and just buy them tickets on the day (each day at 20% discount) but I'm not sure they will get EMH doing it that way as I don't know what time ticket sales desks open. I know staying in a Disney hotel entitles you to EMH (esp if you have say a Fantasy AP) but if they don't have a ticket at 8 am then I don't see how they can get in the park iyswim? :confused3

It is a while away so I can decide a bit nearer the time weighing up costs (well, it will be June as that is probably when offer will come out). Depending on the discount offered it might be cheaper to do the 1 adult package per room as you state Elaine and then just room tax for AP holders. Having said that, I know the AP room rate for our June trip and it is cheaper than 1 adult package rate but that was only with 15% off on the hotel package though.

Now we have APs the options are there I guess....

I guess it might also be that they are not bothered about EMH and will just meet us at 10 am ish, in which case we could get them tickets each day.
