Just got back last night and I'm gonna be listing lots of little various tidbits of info.
One of our ideas (actually we got it here) was to carry along extra glow sticks and give them to crying children. It was GREAT! One little girl was crying for her mom. My wife broke the stick in front of her and handed her a bright green glow stick (we found a box of about 300 at a yardsale for 3 bucks) and it lit her crying face up in green. She stopped crying immediately, and smiled.
My son handed one to a little girl about his age of 7 who kept looking at all our glowing stuff. She didnt have any. She smiled really big, and her whole face lit up! Her mom was equally surprised, and lit up as well. It was a good experience for my son as well, as he's going through that "girls are icky and gross" stage, and generally dislike girls at the moment. I'm sure it'll pass. They all go through that, but he forgot how much he hates girls for a few moments at least!

AWESOME IDEA! We usually pick up our glow sticks either through Market Day or the wholesale club. It'd be fun to spread a little magic ourselves!

I had a similar experience. I went to Disney World in June with a family who has a disabled daughter. We had spent a very long day at MK and were waiting for Spectro to start (had about 45min left). I was leaning against the fence in the handicapped section and it was drizzling and it was humid and I was a little grumpy

Next to me was a three year old who was starting to get whiney (the end of the day cranky, past their bedtime, pre-meltdown mode... you know it) so I started talking to her to keep her entertained. I wound up giving her and her 2 brothers glo sticks. She and I kept each other entertained for the next 40 min :teeth:. Her mother was very greatful to say the least :earboy2: princess:

Wow - you should be really proud of your son. It warms my heart when I hear about kids doing such nice things for each other... Great job! :earboy2:

I've got a tube of 100 of those little bracelet size glowsticks...think we'll take it along and hand them out. Great idea!
