Spray tanning and *not* looking like an Oompa Loompa?

I feel so pale right now. I don't wear foundation (it feels funny) so I need a little bit of color. I thought of spray tanning but I keep thinking of Snooki and Lindsay Lohan. I would prefer to not look like an Oompa Loompa! :lmao:

Is this possible? Where should I go? Any alternatives?

Sadly, we went to WDW in December and I wanted to get a little sun. Well, it's hard to get sun from under a parka. :headache:

Too bad you're not in MA! I work at a spa that does spray tanning. Amber Sun by Norvell is what we currently use. I would call around to places. At our place a person actually sprays you! Australian Gold is also another one we use. You don't look like an OOMPA LOOMPA!

Good luck!

I've had a VersaSpa spray tan done several times and I really like the color it produces. I have tried so many and this is by far my favorite.

Well, I used to get airbrushed pretty regularly, but I can't really afford it now, but my experience is this-

I would get sprayed about once every 2-3 weeks, I know that it doesn't seem like the very best thing being naked and having someone spraying stuff on you but, it is much more even and and natural looking, and it lasts longer.

I used the booth- mystic tanning I think, once only- we were leaving for Orlando and the girl that airbrushed me was out of town, so I went to another salon and went into the tanning booth- never again!! I literally felt like it took my breath away!! I couldn't breathe and got choked up for about 5 minutes! The tanning was so uneven and it faded much sooner and came off in splotches!!

Oh, it is also very COLD!!

I forgot to add- op, I never wear any foundation anymore either, about 7 years ago I started using bronzer- it looks so much more natural, and my skin is so much healthier. It is such a boost color wise and it is very easy to apply.

Cool, I'll definitely call around. There are a lot of tanning places around here. Australian Gold sounds familiar, I know I've seen that. Thanks!! :)

I'll check that out too!

LOL I am cold at the thought of standing there in a booth naked getting sprayed with a cold mist. :scared1: Ok, Mystic Tan is *out.*

What bronzer do you like? I used to use one by Physicians Formula but it's VERY shiny and it just doesn't look right anymore.

I use Physician's Formula too, I used one a long time ago that looked sort of like a palate of mixed colors but the one I am using now is different and I like a lot better. I will have to go upstair and check which one it is, but it's not shiny. What I do when I am done applying it is take a cotton ball or a tissue and sort of wipe it all, sort of blend and even. Plus, if you are using the bronzer, just make sure you are only placing it on the spots the sun would normally kiss. :)

Ok went to physicians formula online it is called Bronze booster- glow boosting pressed bronzer it comes in a couple different shades, so you can choose which one would compliment you skin tone better. :)

The one you had sounds like the one I have. I'll try out the Bronze booster-- I have a few CVS extra bucks I can use too. Sweet

Thank you!! I'm totally having the mid-winter blahs.

Well, not much of a fan of the spray on tanning material. Personally, I'd go for the real thing, a tan, since it can have positive health benefits. I thought Dr Eades had a nice write up about the benefits of UVB rays and how to keep skin healthy.

I agree with this train of thought, I would actually even venture on to say I am suffering from Seasonal Affective Disorder, been considering using a tanning bed once or twice a week, cause there is no sun to be seen here.
