I thought I read somewhere that you can’t use spray sunscreen on Disney’s islands is this true? I love using my spray sunscreen!
Awesome point for people to be aware of.The main thing to be aware of (besides where you spray around others) is that there are a lot of places that now require reef-safe sunscreen and that's not always available in spray form.
And even if it's not REQUIRED (not as of yet in the Bahamas), it's just being a good ocean visitor to do what you can to keep the reefs protected.
and then it's so complicated with the "labels" (as they are not completely regulated) of reef "safe", "friendly", and mineral sunscreen.....The main thing to be aware of (besides where you spray around others) is that there are a lot of places that now require reef-safe sunscreen and that's not always available in spray form.

I tend to look for those safe for Hawaii - that seems to be the most strict and regulated from what I've been able to find.and then it's so complicated with the "labels" (as they are not completely regulated) of reef "safe", "friendly", and mineral sunscreen.....
I scoured many lists and found one that was supposedly not that slimy and it was SO SLIMY....
and I do know it is very rare to find a spray that is reef safe (or whatever label is the MOST strict)
real question, do you have a good list? I have seen so many with like "these ingredients are safe" and then a completely different one saying "these are AWFUL" and its the same.....I wish Hawaii had a website hahahaI tend to look for those safe for Hawaii - that seems to be the most strict and regulated from what I've been able to find.

Also Sun Bum. I used that on my last cruise and it was good.
Oh interesting. Yeah...when you first look it seems like they are, but the ones that meet Hawaiian standards are the mineral ones.I got sad that the Sun Bum that I THOUGHT was safe (yay spray!) but then I found it was one of theirs that wasn't.....on SOME list....

Here is one article, but this info is widely available at this point. Not trying to be a smart *** btw. Trying to be helpful.[citation needed]
