My son Dakota was selected to be on the spring tournament team for boys under 10. He had his first tournament in Tucson Arizona January 20-21. This was our first experience at this competitive division and I wasn't sure what to expect. I was shocked to learn there were 368 teams playing in all age divisions. For U10 Boys there were 6 divisions of 4 teams each. I took a few pictures (few being a relative term since we ended up with 345 images for 3 games). I've created an online album of the photos if anyone is interested. I shot with the Nikon D200 using a 70-200mm/f2.8 VR lens while Trina chose the Nikon D100 with a 80-800mm/f2.8 lens. We shot everything in RAW format. I was tired by the time I got home so I just grabbed all the photos; set the white balance, brightness, and shadow level then uploaded the shots. I need to go back through because I think there were a few where the auto focus didn't catch the action quick enough and they are blurry.

What I noticed was that the D200 seems to have beter color saturation than the D100 and although both were using the Adobe color spectrum, the D200 seemed slightly brighter. I need to shoot some other subjects to see if this trend continues.

80-800mm/f2.8 lens
is that right??? that would have to be a monster lens

Took a quick look at the picks looked very nice.

Ok, I need a prescription refill. When an 80-200mm lens starts to look like a 80-800mm then I need better drugs. Of course in the hands of my wife who is 5'9" and 98lbs, that lens does look pretty long. ;)
