Sports fans, how long have you been waiting?

I was wondering who is reaching the my levels of years without a championship.

I am an Oakland fan. So Raiders, Warriors, A's and Sharks. My last championship was in 1989 by the A's, I was 3 years old.

I don't want to hear about Boston and Chicago fans who whined that they didn't have a championship in baseball for decades... you had the Bulls and Celtics. Anyone else on the wrong side of 20?

I'm an Oakland fan too minus Warriors and replaced with Kings. So my years of suffering are just as long.

Titans fan... nothing for us yet, still waiting... :sad2:

ETA: We won playoffs for our division once but not the all important Superbowl..

As a Mets fan....I've suffered since 1986. And I've had to watch the Yankees win 5 championships in that time, and of course I really had to suffer thru the 2000 World Series.

Luckily, I'm a Giants fan....so I've had a few winning years there. And the upset of the Patriots a few years ago.

so while I've waited for 23 years for the Mets, at least I had the Giants to celebrate.

Saints fan here. I don't think I even need to explain any futher.

But my wait might almost finally be over.

OP, I get what you're saying, as in NONE of your teams are winning teams.
So I can't complain to that degree. I'm a St. Louis fan. Not much of a football fan at all, so the Rams relatively recent Superbowl win (2001, so it's within this decade at least) doesn't really count for me. And I suppose we've got it pretty good in the realm of baseball.

HOWEVER...I'm actually a hockey fan. I would give up all other sports for hockey. So here's my beef. St. Louis Blues fans are a rare breed. We're die hard fans. We stand behind our team year after year. We've seen some hockey greats come into our fair city and play for the Blues.
But do you know how many times we've won the Stanely Cup on our 42 year history as a franchise? Count 'em....ZERO. Never! We're still waiting! So despite the relative success over the years of the Cardinals and the Rams, I'd say St. Louis still qualifies simply by virtue of the Blues...:thumbsup2

Professionally I'm a Cincinnati Reds fan and I was feeling sorry for myself after the World Series, thinking how the Reds will probably never win another world championship as long as the current MLB financial system is in effect.

But then I remembered that I started following the Reds when I was 7--in 1970. So I've seen my team play in 7 League Championship Series, 5 World Series and win 3 world titles, so even if the Reds never win another title I'm pretty fortunate.

The Philles finally did it for us. Still waiting for the Eagles though, sigh!

I'm a Cincinnati Bengals fan. Been to the Superbowl twice, but never won. And we have seen some pretty dismal seasons since the last time (1988).

Well, you didn't specify what sport, and the "championship" for the one I care most about is the Triple Crown. Last winner was in 1978. I was born in 1979, so I've been waiting all my life.

NFL-wise, I'm from the Detroit area. Does that give you an idea?

I meant sport wide. As a fan of Detroit sports, you had the Pistons a few years back and the Red Wings. Detroit fans have nothing to complain about. Sorry St. Louis, you don't qualify either with the Cardinals.

Cleveland? I feel for you.l

Cubs fan..................................................................................................... (<--101 dots)

sorry new york and chicago, don't qualify.

sorry new york and chicago, don't qualify.

I think there could be exceptions. what if you're just a baseball fan in Chicago? Then it counts. Like I said, I'm lucky that I'm a Giants fan, but what about the usual Met fan--they are also Jets fans. So just because the Yankees have won or the Giants have won something, those fans don't count? It may really be worse--try being a Mets fan when the Yankees win. It ain't pretty.
