Sports: Deflate-Gate

Don't you care that many people look at that banner and say "yeah, but they cheated". I would hate for my team to be identified as cheaters but I guess if that is what you have you have to run with it.

Don't think the Titans have to worry

The entitlement of this couple is hilarious. http://pagesix.com/2015/07/29/gisele...019.1435090947

Wth does some random story about a woman having plastic surgery have to do with entitlement ? If that was true 1/2 of CA is entitled:rotfl2::jumping1:

She is wearing a burka. I would respect her if she just admitted to her surgery. Its insulting to me, thats all. Doesn't jive with her all natural image, I guess. Like husband like wife.

If this is the level of "cheating" I'll take that over having someone who whipped their child bloody or beat their GF/fiancé unconscious or threatened to kill her. We've had a couple in the past and Myra wouldn't stand for it, thank God. And yeah, I was all over Hernandez, so I am not one to be blind to a situation on my team.
Hernandez was a special case of nasty. Your team may not have stood for disturbing behavior but they took Hernandez who came from Florida with pretty horrible behavior. The police recommended felony assault charges and he was a suspect in gun violence while in college. I am not just blaming you guys, there are plenty of guys who shouldn't be playing - I'm looking at you Jameis Winston, Tampa Bay. I also am not proud of PacMan Jones time with the Titans among others. I just don't think the Patriots have any more room to claim a clean team based on player behavior than they do on claiming their team does not cheat while playing the game.

The Patriots have now released parts of an email chain from February where they asked the NFL to put a stop to the leaks (often of incorrect information) that were coming from their office. The NFL said they didn't believe the leaks were coming from their office (despite the Patriots pointing out that in at least one case the Patriots and the NFL were the only two parties with knowledge of the larger story being leaked and the Patriots would certainly not leak damaging information about themselves). The NFL said they also didn't want to correct the misinformation out there about the actual PSI measurements because it would only draw more attention to the story. Sure. So they let an incorrect report about 11 out of 12 balls being 2 PSI under the allowable level to sit out in the public for months.

Whatever the end result, it looks like it will all be resolved soon as they have fast tracked the process with the judge. There will be a settlement meeting on August 12 in an attempt to settle outside of court and if that does not work, the judge will rule by September 4 and the start of the season.

Interesting to read some of Brady's testimony during his appeal. Just read the chain of emails from the Ravens to the Colts too....and that the Ravens have been denying any involvement.

My gut tells me their will be a settlement next week during the meeting with the judge.

I read some of the testimony. Pretty interesting, but what was the best was the ESPN headline I read. It said "Breaking: Tom Brady denied under oath to Roger Goodell that he tampered with footballs before the AFC title game." Well of course he did. Whether you think he did it or not it cannot be a surprise that he denied it during the appeal with Goodell.

I'd love to read the Ravens/Colts emails. Could you link it?

I have to warn you, the ads on NESN's page are awful and tend to lock up pages...

I think your bias is showing. Big difference here is that Rodgers was pushing the limit before the refs examined the balls. The refs then could catch it and put the balls at the proper amount. The Patriots adjusted the pressure in secret after the balls were examined. Big, big difference.

But isn't that based on a verbal confirmation that the official handled the balls (Patriots) and didn't document the testing and/or couldn't confirm to what (if any) gauge was used?

Seriously? This is from CBSSports, not a Pats site. Even impartial people are admitting there is bias at the least in this mess. If anyone has paid any attention the rules, an equipment issue can't be tacked onto a player. The NFL has handled this completely wrong from the get-go.

Please ....let this be the last time I have to say this. The REF's don't check JACK ! There is no putting anything at any "proper" amount! That is the problem with the entire argument -the one check in place that could have "caught" the Patriots(or ANY team for that matter)was never handled correctly ...in any games. Sad, but true!

Right. You'd think since according to those emails there was concern about the inflation of the balls prior to the game, the balls would have been checked and logged correctly and the teams would have been told there was concern. I mean if it's all about the integrity of the game why wouldn't you make sure everything was OK from the start?

Because it's not about the integrity of the game, it's about sore losers. And I'm not saying that because we just won a SB, I was a fan back when we couldn't win a prize in a box of Cracker Jacks. The Ravens and Colts got beat, repeatedly and Goodell wants parity in the game and the Patriots are not helping with that what with being in the hunt or at the top for the last decade. So sorry. I know we are going back to the bottom of the heap someday, that's the way it works (see Cowboys, Redskins, Steelers) but until that happens, you can't invent stuff to knock them out because you want there to be "parity" or because you are sick of losing to a team that rubs you the wrong way. I can take losing to the Texans or Bills MUCH better than if it's the Jets or Bronco's. It's just the way it is, I get that. But I'm not going to cry about it.

Apparently somebody checked this time because the Patriots and Brady were caught cheating.

This is laughable. Oh please, just because you don't like that your team was caught cheating does not mean that someone invented the cheating.

I keep missing the written test results the officials had of he game balls before game time. Can you link those for me again?

Please list the following;
1-PSI in all balls prior to game. Patriots and Colts.
2-PSI in all balls at half time. Patriots and Colts.
3-PSI in ANY ball from ANY game prior to the AFC Championship game in 2014.

If there is NO record of PSI prior to a game, and the ball is squeeze checked prior to games to gauge it's worthiness of entering play, how can anyone know if air was put in or taken out? That's the whole problem! :badpc:
