Sports: Deflate-Gate

Contrary to popular opinion, Patriots fans are quite nice and can be fairly reasonable :)

Like this guy! :rotfl2:

So why would Belicheck spend hour researching how to excuse possible deflation by temparature, when it appears there might be tape of person taking balls out of refs room? Would the tapes not be the first thing you look at. I mean he has experience looking at tapes.

Hey, he may be very nice, ya never know. And when the hair grows in, he could be your insurance salesman or something!

Ba Da BING! :rotfl:

To learn or find how it's possible for footballs to lose air pressure, given that coaches aren't genreally aware of tge physics of a football. Or air pressure. Or deflation.

When to the best of your (a coach's reasonable and customary) knowlege nobody who works for you might have done something unethical, there isn't any valid reason to surveill them.

You know, innocent until proven guilty and all that.

Would not the reason be the missing air in only their balls. And to go to the public with an explanation of weather and hard rubbing to me would seem foolish and possibly very misleading if I or someone did not watch the security tapes of my stadium. Especially when I pointed out in the very same speech that other teams break rules similar to the rules that I and my people broke a long long time ago.

That's some axe you're grinding...

Inflate Gate... Spy Gate... or whatever... I"m going to admit, I can't stand William Stephen "Bill" Belichick nor can I stand Thomas Edward Patrick "Tom" Brady, Jr. And I can't stand the New England Patriots(or the Celtics or the Red Sox).

I highly dislike Belichick and his personality and demeanor. I hate how from week to week he changes running backs as often as he changes his underwear causing havoc on my fantasy football team. I can't stand his hoodie. I simple can't stand him since his days in Cleveland. :)

I highly dislike Brady and his perceived arrogance... Can't stand that smirk of his... I can't stand the knit caps on his head during a press conference. I can't stand the "tuck rule" from 2001 with Brady (IMHO as with most outside of N.E. it was a fumble). I can't stand the havoc he causes my fantasy football team with his constant 300 yards and 3 TD games. :)

I highly dislike the Patriots first off because they have Belichick (LOL). I can't stand how they run up the score in meaningless situations. It sure bit them in the backside a few years ago when Wes Welker was injured in a meaningless final game and lost for the post season. And Patriot fans sure had a scare last week when Brady took a scary shot to the knees with a huge lead with 5 minutes left. The Patriots did a very unpatriotic thing when they allowed Steven Tyler to screech the national anthem in a way that has not been worse since Rosie O'Donnell performed her fiasco some years ago. And lastly, I am old enough to remember the snowplow game where someone from New England came out with a plow and cleared an area on the field for the Patriots aiding them in their 3-0 win over the Dolphins.

But with all that said I will admit, Belichick is perhaps arguable the greatest coach in the history of the NFL... If not the greatest then certainly top 3. Tom Brady, IMHO will go down as the greatest QB in NFL history. Sure, Peyton Manning may have better overall stats than Brady, but Brady wins when it matters... In the playoffs and three times in the Superbowl. As for the Patriots, I can never come to allowing myself to say anything nice about a Boston area team. :lmao: Ok, they did produce a couple of my all time favorites in John Hannah and Tedy Bruschi.

So there you have it. Do I sound jealous? Sure... The reason? I am jealous. I just don't like the Patriots (still hate the Steelers and Ravens more). My favorite team, the Cleveland Browns are pathetic. The last time they won a championship was the year I was born (1964). they have never been to the Superbowl... We still can't find a QB... And we also had Belichick once as our head coach.

As for Inflate Gate... I so wish it would be true and that Belichick and Brady had a trail of evidence leading right to their door. I doubt there is and perhaps they had nothing to do with it... Perhaps they did?... Perhaps the weather conditions only had an affect on their footballs and not the Colts. Either way, I am ready to move on and watch a Superbowl between two teams and two coaches I can't stand. :rotfl:

***this post was in jest and for fun. I certainly hope it is seen for just that.***

Example, I'm not even freaking out because I can't find a reason Boston Cream Pie is called "pie" when it's cake!

Irish humble pie in my hometown's Irish neighbourhood!

Go Patriots Go! :cheer2:

I wonder if this is really true, did the NFL has ask to see additional tapes from prior game.

In the end either the Pats get in trouble or the NFL winds up with yet more egg on their face

LOL Roger Goodell and Robert Kraft are buddies. If you think the Pats are going to get more than a scolding, I have a bridge for sale.

My money is on the NFL. I'm not going to debate people's opinions of Belichick or Brady, but Kraft is a class act all the way and there is NO WAY he would get out with the statements he did if he was not 100% confident that there was no hanky panky.

90 seconds in the bathroom with 24 balls that belonged to both the Colts and Pats? Never mind the obvious jokes you could make, I do not think that is "conclusive" evidence of tampering. Not even minor evidence.

Well the Pats should b e punished if they were guilty and I'm a Pats fan. My point about the NFL was that it hasn't been a banner year for the NFL.

I agree. BUT...and here's the thing...if there is no evidence of tampering, some people just won't accept it. They'll say Kraft/Goodell connection or smoke/fire etc....It may just be that the Patriots did nothing wrong. Maybe the Colts balls were at 13.5 and Pats were at 12.5 and they both dropped 1 PSI so the Colts were within range and the Pats weren't. Possible? Yes. Do I (or anyone else) know for sure? No. All I know is there is zero reason for this to have gone on this long, and that 99% of the "info" out there is actually just rumor.

Sorry if this has already been addressed, but being a bitter Bills fan, I haven't been following deflate-gate too closely ;)

The balls that were underinflated - were they only used by the Patriots during the game? Or did the Colts' offense play with these same balls? I wasn't sure if each team provides their own balls or how that works. If the Patriots, being the home team, provided the balls for both sides to use, then wouldn't the underinflation benefit both sides and thus be a moot point?
