Sport Beans for training

Confusing NEED vs WANT, for a 10k race and likely training the body does not need them.

This is true in most cases. However, depending on the heat and humidity, plus the person's salt sweat rate could require the person to consume electrolytes during the workout. OP, the nausea you are experiencing during your workouts could be from over hydration.

I'm a very salty sweater but I do not consume anything other than water in a workout that is less then 90 minutes. If it is hot and humid I will make sure I hydrate well before my workout and during. I may or may not drink Gatorade after my workout but I usually prefer a recovery drink.

Now during workouts lasting 2 hours or more I will be consuming calories and electrolytes because I need that salt! In fact, my special needs bag for the bike portion of the Ironman will contain a peanut butter and honey sandwich and a small can of Pringles.

OP, try a few workouts without the electrolytes. Make sure you hydrate well the day before as well as the day of your run.

i have used the sports beans for a long time now and really like them. i do find they give you a little pick me up when you need it but i prefer the sports beans over the gels any day.
