What is the spookiest or scariest place you've been. Doesn't have to be a haunted house type, could be a city, a building, outdoors, standing at the altar, anyplace.

spookiest spot i've everbeen was in the fordyce bath house museum in hot springs ar, when a ghost chased dw and i out aftershe entered one of the "locker/changing cubicles" in the mens area.

Spookiest place I've ever been was a tie between the Titanic Exhibit in Orlando and across from the LaLaurie house in New Orleans.

In the Titanic it had been comfortable all throughout the exhibit and then I stopped and looked at a picture from the actual ship and it turned ice cold and I swear something brushed across my shoulders.

The LaLaurie house just has the saddest and scariest feeling about it and you can only stand on the street outside it. It just gives you the creeps.

St. Michan's in Dublin has mummies in the basement. They are exposed in their coffins and you can walk right up to them. It's good luck to touch them. No way for me but hubby did.EWWWWW

Mine was when I was by myself on the haunted stairway in the Myrtles plantation late at night. I don't really know why I was so spooked, maybe it was just the power of suggestion.

Manresa castle in port townsend.

When we stayed there, we woke up and stuff had been moved and knocked off of the dressers.

At a Halloween party in college, some people pulled out a Ouija board, asked a question, and got some evil, dark, violent answers. This "feeling" overtook the room that was SOOO creepy. we, along with many others decided to leave the party. We had to drive for a few miles along a dark country road, and we were SURE something was going to jump out in front of us (the party was held at an old barn in the country). I have never been SOOO happy to see the highway. Even now, tears are running down my face as I remember that night...it was baaaadd!!

The Mission Saint Luis Rey. I've lived in Ca. my whole life but was never interested in the missions around here. My boyfriend's mom flew out and she wanted to see some sights, so I thought the mission would be neat.

It was beautiful and empty. There is a statue of Jesus that totally scared me on the outside of the building. When we got to the chapel, it was totally dark, lit with candles and empty except for our group of 3. At the altar and in the choir were more of those scary statues.

The mission was gorgeous, but those statues were so scary!

I've been on some spooky Dis threads
What he said...

Auschwits and the other concentration camps that I visited were rather spooky.

The Catacombs in Rome. Yes, those are skulls in the pic, and there were plenty more!

My 1876 barn. It's creepy at night. In the early 1900s a sherriff was shot in front of our barn. I swear he's still around. My DD thinks he watches over her. It's a bank barn....if you go to the lowest level there is a root cellar that is the spookiest part. I won't even go in there in the daylight.

Even tho I've never been, I think one of the spookiest places would be It's a Small World after hours, without lights on. SPOOKY! Especially to those of us who have read Kingdom Keepers!

My very own house, I suppose. It looked just like something out of a horror movie when we bought it...dark flocked wallpaper, dark molding, floors and built-in cabinetry that is in many of the rooms. We changed all that and now it's light and cheerful looking...until dusk. :bitelip: Then it takes on an "odd" feel that I can't describe. Neighbors have told some tall tales concerning the early beginnings here but DH and I think it's nothing but "talk". One thing, though...we have family members who "freak" at holiday time when visiting here and also tell some tall tales. We just ignore it. :teeth:
