Hi everyone,

Did anyone see Spooks last night? What did you think of Tom's demise?

This made me think of the thread recently about TV series where the best characters are killed off or written out.

I liked Tom

I may have to start a campaign with the BBC

I love Spooks, and as I thought the programme was mainly about Tom, I am really disappointed that he has been written out.

I read that he wanted to leave to do other things, but he'll be sadly missed. His best episodes were when he had the girlfriend who didn't know he was a spy and gradually found out the truth and nearly died in the bomb (end of series one).

I was disappointed when I heard that Tom was going to be leaving during this series

But having seen last nights episode I am not so much disappointed that he has gone, but more in the way his character has been trampled all over by the scriptwriters.

To me the ideal way for him to have gone would have been with his girlfriend to start a new life in the states at the end of the first episode. But no! we had to see that relationship ruined and then a strange descent into madness in this episode which led to him being drummed out of the service. It's Just so wrong

On a positive note though I do like Adam Carter as a new character

More bad news !!

I'm not sure if this 100% correct, but I'm sure that I read that Zoe is leaving too at some stage as she is pregnant (her and Tom - in real life are a couple).

Have to admit i was a bit peeved when i realised the Tom character was leaving last night !!... not having read about it first.

Great shame, his was a quirky character and all the better for that, even with his two sizes too small overcoat ! lol !.............. it looks the replacement is from the pretty boy with designer stubble school of non--acting. i'll give him a chance but I just get the feeling this series will fade into nothing.......... the other two were made to look like spineless wimps last night....wouldn't want them in your corner in a fight would ya !?
