Spooked and not happy

I just got back at nearly 1 am from the Halloween party to find my room door OPEN. When I left at 5 housekeeping had not been in. When I came back the bed was made so I can only assume the door did not latch fully after they finished.
I can see anything missing but my room has prob been open. For hours.
I'm waiting for the manager to ring me back. But I've scared myself that someone's been in my room, staying at allstars and I'm right next to the lifts. I'm female and on my own so really spooked and not in a hallowishes way.

If the manager ever rings back I'm going to tell him I don't want housekeeping back in my room. But the chances of ever getting to sleep tonight at slim.

Oh no poor you....

I'm sure it's just a silly mistake by the cleaner; albeit very unsettling if you're on your own.

Hopefully the Manager get back to you soon and you get some satisfactory answers along with some apologies..

Then all you need to do then if focus on the fun you'll have on the rest of your trip. :)

It is probably just housekeeping not being careful enough to make sure the door was fully closed

If you haven't heard from the manager walk to the front desk and speak to someone - if you call it goes to a call centre not the actual front desk.

That happened to us at OKW. We just figured that the door hadnt latched properly. Nothing was missing and we didn't have a further problem! Hope that you manage to get some sleep! :goodvibes

i'm so sorry!!!!
i would be spooked too!!
no matter how much i would tell myself that everything is ok, i would still be creeped out.

But i'm sure it is exactly what everyone said - the door didn't latch completely when housekeeping left.

we had a room at pop last year that had to be slammed - it didn't lock on its own. You had to pull it shut. Normally they lock on their own so maybe housekeeping didn't take special care to see that your door was really locked.

but still i know how you feel. I've been known to put chairs in front of the hotel room door when i'm traveling alone. Irrational to be sure, but i still do it.

you could put a do not disturb sign on your room so that housekeeping leaves the room alone.

but i would definitely let the front desk know about what happened. Go to them and tell them and tell them how very very very very very very very very very very upset you are. They should be aware that you have been terribly upset by this. Even ask to speak with a manager, not just one of the regular CMs at the desk. They need to know that you are VERY upset.

This happened to me when I was staying at Pop on my first trip to WDW in 2008. I was 23 at the time and travelling with my female friend, so we were a little spooked too. We complained to the front desk who didn't seem too bothered really, and later received a grovelling apology from the housekeeping manager.

I think if I was travelling solo I'd request to change rooms, just for peace of mind.

yes agree with others...I'd definitely ask to change room for your own peace of mind..Please don't let it ruin the rest of your holiday. I agree with the others, it was more then likely just unfortunate that it didn't close properly. :grouphug:

Seems to be a regular occurrence and has happened to me too.

That would really freak me out if I was alone and I would definitely head for the front desk and ask for a new room.

Well I got about 4 hours sleep and have been battling a headache all day today as a result.
The manager never rang me back surprise.
Spoke to the concierge manager this morning who really Dident seem that bothered cause I said nothing was missing she informed maintenance who have fixed the door and said she would inform housekeeping manager.
Dident ask to move cause I've damaged my knee and walking with a crutch at moment as it keeps giving way and I'm really close to main building where I am which is handy.

Go to First Aid and ask there. Building is just before you go in to World Showcase at the Mexico side.

dramamine causes headaches and drowsiness in some people (even the non-drowsy formula)..

if you're in the park, go to firstaid and ask for something for a headache....you can become nauseous (and even vomit) from a very severe headache..

if you're at the resort, you can buy an over the counter headache medicine in the resort shop...

advil (ibuprofen) works well on headaches...it's over the counter....they probably sell it in the little store in the resort..

Had already taken Tylenol (can't take NSAID) when I posted last, ended up having a pretzel and heading back to the resort cause I felt so ill.

Was asleep for 3 hours but have just been woken by security and fire department next door who due to the crap sound keeping I know had been drinking and fell hitting his head on the table.
Today has been a total washout and to cap it all I still have a headache and still feel sick. :headache:
