We are looking at Spoodles for dinner. How is the food for kids? If we book for 6:00 or thereafter, will we have time to get there from Animal Kingdom if we stay for Jammin' Jungle Parade at 4:00? It looks like it isn't far, but sometimes, the maps are quite misleading. (Btw--we will have our own car and would be ine to drive if need be).

I think you will enjoy it at Spoodles.

Ate at Spoodles in Sept 2007 and it's a fantastic restaurant. The kid's menu is pretty much the same as all the others at Disney. My daughter has a food allergy so they modified her food a bit. She really liked it but the big hit was the chocolate pudding (mousse?) shaped like a Mickey. DD also like the hummous platter we got for our appetizer, but she likes stuff like that.

As for the time/distance question, sorry I can't be of any help with that.

I'm a huge Spoodles fan. I had wanted to go FOREVER and I finally made it there this past September.

I went with my sister and my 2 kids. they were 1 and 3 (at the time) and we had a great time. :dance3:

The food was delicious. :lovestruc We shared 2 appetizers and my sister & I shared an entree (and a pitcher of sangria) :drinking1 while my kids shared a kids meal.

Anyway, we went at opening--which I would do again with young kids. The place was just filling up and the servers had time for us. We had excellent service.:thumbsup2

It would be worth it in my opinion to drive. :drive: We always rent a car, so AK is the park we ALWAYS drive to. I would then drive to the Boardwalk. You could watch the parade, and then go.

Or, you could take the Boardwalk bus from AK. ( I have no experience staying at the Boardwalk so I can't comment on their bus service.):confused3

The part about driving there though... you can then just drive back from the Boardwalk back to your resort instead of going to DTD from Boardwalk & switching or walking thru Epcot to your bus... :rolleyes1

But, Spoodles is worth the transportation hassle--it really is fantastic!:thumbsup2

whoa... this was a long post! sorry!;)

We love Spoodles. We've always had great food and service there. My DS loves it there because they have mac & cheese with Mickey-shaped pasta. :thumbsup2 Most restaurants in WDW just use reg pasta.

I think you'll be fine with a 6:00 or later ADR, as long as your driving and not relying on Disney transportation.

Enjoy. :goodvibes

We love Spoodles but generally only eat there on an Epcot day or when we are staying at the Boardwalk. Don't know about driving because we never do but you should have plenty of time to watch the parade and get to the Boardwalk for a 6:00 ADR. Bus service to the Boardwalk is quick. And the walk from the bus stop to the restaurant isn't that far. The hassle is getting back to your hotel. I wouldn't suggest going to DTD to catch a bus to your resort. You could walk through Epcot (and if you time it right, catch Illuminations). But your quickest option for Disney transportation is probably to take the boat to the Studios and catch a bus from there. You can also walk to the Studios - we usually do this because it is quicker than the boat. But if your kids are young or it is hot the boat might work better for you. With a 6:00 ADR you should have no trouble getting to the Studios before the busses to the hotels stop running. Spoodles is worth the transportation hassle though.
