Thinking about ging here on the plan with DH on our trip in May. There will be no kids on this trip and would like to have a nice romantic dinner. Is this a good choice since I have never eaten here before. Thanks
We had a lovely dinner at Spoodles a few months ago. The appetizers were great along with a delicious meal and some wonderful sangria. Did I mention the sangria?
I love Spoodles, but I wouldn't really consider it romantic. It's more on the hustley bustley side with a healthy dose of noise and clatter. There are a couple of booths on the far end of the restaurant that would be more quiet, but generally I consider it a great place for families or groups. Great food and service though!
I was also going to say Spoodles isn't very romantic. It was one of the loudest restaurants we ate in and the place was packed. Plus there's no low-lighting or anything that might create a little ambiance. However, it was one of the best meals during our trip and the steak was actually better than what we had at Le Cellier...I'd go just for that reason.
My wife and I went to Spoodles in Sept during the free DDP. I asked for the earliest seating since we had things to do that night. There were only 3 groups total when they opened. It was very quiet, we had a nice table for two near enought to see the chefs working. When we left after our meal it was still only 1/3 full. This was a Friday night. It was one of our better experiences since all the other places were always packed. At Chefs de France, I felt like I had to time my actions to the person at the next table--lift my glass while he was placing his back, etc.
just DH & i ate at spoodles last year.
they put us at a quiet table, away from families.
we loved it so much that we cancelled another ADR just to eat there again (btw, the 2nd time, we were also in a "quieter" area).
