Spoodles Walk-up?

Hi all. For our trip in mid-December we will be arriving at MCO at about 4.30pm on a Saturday. We had planned to make ADRs for every night of our trip - and had planned on going to Spoodles on the day we arrive (we are staying at the Yacht Club). However we are now thinking about not making a reservation on our arrival day, since we don't know what time we will arrive at YC, there is a good chance of delay (international flight), and if we are running a bit late we don't want to be too rushed.

So, my question is - what are the chances of being able to turn up and eat at Spoodles on a Saturday night without a reservation? how long would we have to wait? What about the other restaurants in YC/BC/Boardwalk? (Our park tickets don't kick in until the following day so eating in Epcot is not an option).

Also, would we be able to phone from the hotel and make an ADR for an hour or two later? What are the chances?

Thanks!

Sometimes I call in for an ADR on my way driving to WDW, which is only about a half hour away. (Once I was on hold so long we arrived at WCC before I was able to speak to anyone to make the ADR. :lmao: )

If you get there at opening you may be safe. Otherwise I would just try making the ADR as soon as you can.

I imagine Saturday night mid December would be a very hard walk up.

We eat at Big River Grill (on the Boardwalk) and never have had an ADR there yet. But I don't think we have tried there on a Saturday night either.

You won't have any problems getting a table. There may be a wait, but they'll get you in.

We did walk-up to Spoodles on a Saturday in October--but, it was early, like maybe 5:30 or so. We don't normally like to eat that early, but it just worked out that way. It was yummy!

Spoodles has a large seating capacity so you'll probably be able to get in with a moderate wait (but 45 mins would not surprise me).

As for other good choices: The Crew's Cup at YC is a lounge, but also serves food until 10pm. Limited menu but something for everyone (unless picky eaters) and always very good. That's only walk up so you won't feel rushed or need reservations. Nice atmosphere, and in your hotel!

Other close options in Epcot resort area: Kimonos (sushi and Japanese at Swan) is always great, Blue Zoo at Dolphin is always great; there's also burger and fry type place at Dolpin which is solid. Take a peek at the SwanDolphin menus on their website.

As for same night ADR, tough to do particularly at busy times of year...but consider either calling once at airport, or stop at concierge desk in lobby and they will let you know what's available.
