Going for honeymoon during Starwars weekend but it looks like Fantasmic is not showing on the Saturdays, may change for June hours though. Do I chance it and do the Fantasmic Dinner Package and eat at Brown Derby or should we go over to the Boardwalk for Spoodles? Both have never been done so i am in need of advice. Personally I am leaning toward Spoodles.

By the way....planning to do lunch at Sci Fi.

They're both good, but Brown Derby is my family's favorite :thumbsup2 We go every single trip :cool1:

Brown Derby: excellent food (cobb salad, salmon w/marscapone polenta :worship: pork rib chop, Ok every entree and desserts, yum!) Ambience/theme and service are superb. Cost is excellent for a Signature restaurant. Dinner for 4 of us: Cobb salad, 4 entrees, 4 drinks, 4 desserts and 2 adult beverages was the same price as dinner at the Norway princess dinner for not nearly as good food or service. Only downside to the price, not worth using 2TS credits for it. Even when we've had the DDP we paid OOP for Brown Derby.

Spoodles: good food & service, sangria is wonderful but very expensive. Good feeling/ambience in the restaurant, like the open kitchen. If on the DDP it's a good value for 1TS credit.

We are trying Spoodles for the first time in September at the suggestion of one of the Diser's reviews (and she has steered me right before :goodvibes ). We did not like Brown Derby when we went six years ago. We found it mediocre at best and the service was very slow (and only five or six tables were occuped at 1:00 in the afternoon). And, DH, who is a BIG dessert lover, absolutely hated the grapefruit cake.

We usually give each place two tries, but we've not gone back. We just can't see using two table service credits per person when there are so many places we really like and still want to try.

we did spoodles our last trip in 2007 and it was very good. We like the 2ts choices also and have tried CG, Jiko, FF. The only 2 places that we tried and wouldn't go back without a compelling reason would be TTS and WCC. We may try BD this trip.

We are going to try Spoodles on this upcoming trip. We have been to the BD before and we will not go back. Food was just ok, service was slow and to us just did not seem to be worth the 2 TS credits. If it ever went back to 1 credit we might give it another shot but as long as it is 2 credits, we are going to pass.

Can't speak for Spoodles but I really enjoyed my meal at the Brown Derby. Had the DDP and the wine credits so DGF and I had a pretty substantial lunch. Mussels as an appetizer, Steak, bottle of Chimney Rock Cab. If you're on the DDP, it's definately worth it.

Plus there's some mild character interaction which was a nice treat but wasn't overbearing. Would definately recommend.

I'd go with the Brown Derby Fantasmic package. Both Brown Derby and Spoodles are very good places to eat. Brown Derby has lost some of its luster for us, however, now that they no longer make the grapefruit cake fresh on-site. It comes frozen from some manufacturer and tastes like it.

What I will not do, under any circumstances, is go to Fantasmic without the special reserved seating with the package. We're not huge Fantasmic fans anyway -- alot of sound and fury signifying very little. Be that as it may, if we're going to go, we get a dinner package. The thought of sitting bum to bum packed into that stadium is just too much to bear. At least in the reserved seating, things aren't as tight and they aren't constantly coming by insisting that everyone squish closer and closer together and become more and more friendly.

Spoodles is one of my favorite restaurants in all of WDW...less than 3 weeks until we will be eating there!!!:earboy2:

If I had to pick one of those two it would be Brown Derby - it's one of my faves.

I went to Spoodles for the first time last week and I thought it was great... I loved my rigatoni! But Brown Derby still wins out for me.

wow you are making this hard it seems split down the middle.

Sorry, I won't be of much help. :upsidedow We LOVE both places and make sure to eat at both every trip.

I don't think you could go wrong with either one, so maybe pick whichever one works best with your schedule.

Enjoy your honeymoon!
