At Epcot, we immediately headed to Spaceship Earth, and enjoyed it as always. I can't stand the thought of Disney overhauling it, it really represents Disney's original vision of how EPCOT should be. We did a quick tour of Future World, including Test Track, which was having some mechanical issues, and headed to Mexico to relax on El Rio del Tiempo. We worked our way around to Morroco for our 6pm PS, having the traditional 'adult' beverage of each nation as we traveled, as has become my custom.
After a great dinner and fun entertainment in Morroco, we headed out to find a prime place for the parade. We settled for the curb outside the America Gardens Theater by the popcorn stand. The mood was upbeat but a little sad. Most guests didn't know it was the last parade. A janitor stopped to tell me to take lots of pictures, as this would be the last. I told him I knew, and I was definitely going to get some great pics. I spoke with a CM from America (in knickers) and explained to him that the parade was my whole reason for the trip and he encouraged me to write Guest Relations and let them know. He also told me that the wasn't scheduled to work that night, but sked to, because his roomate was in the parade.
As the parade came through, you could tell the CM's were putting their hearts into, and you could see the sadness and pride in their eyes. I was so emotional, as I have a real soft spot in my heart for this parade, since it originated during my law school graduation trip-- so many memories! As it ended, their were people with signs saying things like "Dream On", and we all followed the rope, and stood and cheered at the gate. There seemed to be thousands of people!! Several people were showing credentials to get backstage, and the whole feeling was that of the final curtain falling on a legendary Broadway show. Disney should be ashamed for ending such a beautiful, artistic, and original show.
After such an emotional experience, even though it was still early, we headed home, my firiend not quite understanding that she had just become a part of Disney history.

Geeze, you almost made me cry!!!!! Definately got goose bumps:confused:

Can you tell me more about the Morraco restaurant? Is it a place you can take kids to or is it more for adults? We were looking for a good, different place to eat.:jester:

Thank you for your posting!

The restaurant in Morooco is called Restaurant Marrakesh and it is GREAT for kids! They have a kids menu, although I'm not sure what's on it since I don't personally have kids. There is great entertainment with the belly dancer, and they will bring up kids to dance with her! I love it, and I went with some friends kids, 3 and 5, last summer and they loved it too!!

We will be in disney in three weeks and I can't believe how sad I am to hear that Tapestry parade won't be there! My DD LOVED it! Oh well, maybe they will come up with something really smashing to replace it.

I got tears in my eyes. I too love TOD and I hate the thought that it is gone.
