Please don't read if you don't want a potential surprise ruined on this show...

...........................................................................................
I've seen a couple indications this past week that somehow you get wet in Mickey's Philharmagic - is this the case? Have 2 kids with who that wouldn't go over well with but really want to see the attraction as I hear it's fantastic. If there is a chance of getting wet, is there a spot to sit where you can stay dry?

Thanks in advance!!

You can't sit anywhere to avoid getting wet. It is an effect of the show built into the seats, where you just get a little splash of water, you do not walk out of the theater drenched, so it shouldn't cause alarm

Just a little spritz. Really stretching it to call it "getting wet."

Yes agreed with above. Its really just a little sprinkle and its built in to the seats so there's no way to avoid it.

Yep, just a spritz. However, we took my little guy in there when he was 3. He loved the movie, but wanted no parts of the 3-D glasses after a certain point. His "certain point" was right before the water spritzes you. So he took his glasses off and with rotten timing got squirted right in the eye since he wasn't expecting it... :3dglasses

Basically it is like when your glass of water is totally empty and you throw it on someone...those tiny little drops...that is what happens.

as the pp stated is really is nothing. you may get a few drops of water on your shirt or in you hair and that is about it. saying you get wet is a really really big stretch

This is my favorite. You must go. It is really just a sprinkle. It is like being outside and feeling a few rain drops.

There is a tiny "sprayer" on the seat back in front of you. It's barely a splash-- feels like someone sneezed on you.
If you think that's going to be a problem, you could probably bring a piece of tape or something and cover up the sprayer. But take it off when you go-- it's a fun part of the show for the next guy.

It is a very little sprinkle of water. However, my son has sensory issues and he absolutely hates Philharmagic because of this! If he goes to see it, he wears a wide rim hat and will want a towel or blanket to cover his arms and legs. So we just skip this one with him. It's tough to be a bug has a small water spray too. Same with the Little Mermaid at DHS, it's one we typically skip. He doesn't like the flower squirting at Muppet Vision either, however he loves that show and will put up with it.

When our DDs were little (they're grown now) they went through a phase where they were NOT amused at getting wet on rides. DW and I never realized the number of attractions at WDW where it's possible to get a little spritz until that trip. :earsboy:

Thanks for all of the responses! DD will definitely be able to handle a slight spritz, but DS2 has sensory issues and that could possibly be a problem for him (sometimes, sometimes not :confused3) so I love the tape trick! Will carry that with me and that way we can all enjoy. And didn't know the same issues for Little Mermaid & Muppets (DS2's absolute FAVORITE so there's no way we could skip that) - thanks for the heads up!!

I don’t think a piece of tape would help. The seat back in front of you contains a number of places where things come out - the small amount of water, small puffs of air. And, it is pretty dim even when coming in and getting seated, so finding the spot you are looking for may not be so simple.
I’d suggest instead bringing a small towel or something for him to hold over himself during the water scenes.

My DS also has sensory issues and Philharmagic didn't go over well at all. I can tell you that tape won't work it. Although I agree that it is a small spray, there is not only the spray from "your" seat, but also overspray from the seats in front of you. We tried leaning in from both sides to over him, we tried towels, we even tried an umbrella. There are lots of "spray" attractions and rides at the world. What we found did work was dressing him in swimtrunks and a rashguard swimshirt. He loves the pool and swimming and when he was dressed for water, the spray became acceptable. Hope this helps.

I know some people have had success with towels, but overspray is a problem.

I love the dressing for the water! FOr many people with autism or sensory issues, it’s not the water that’s the problem. It’s that they feel being splashed with water only belongs in certain situations.
I can so see my nephew having made the swim suit logic connection when he was little! If dressed appropriately, water is acceptable.:thumbsup2

Actually, I don't remember the set up for the seats. Do they have the seats in the back of the theater for wheelchairs, like they do at Bug's Life? If so you can sit on those and not be affected. I would ask the CM before you go into the theater.

They have spots in the back of the theater for guests using wheelchairs and ECVs to park, but you still get the ‘features’ that the rest of the guests do.

And, it’s set up to be several parking spots, then a seat or two, then several spots, etc.

Same goes for getting the "effects" in the front row.

Do you think it would work to throw a jacket/towel/shirt/whatever over the entire back of the chair in front of you?
