Spoiler: Ice Dancing, the Italians!

Well, Barbara was MAD like I've never seen after their original program when he dropped her. When they were done skating, she literally stared him down for like 20 seconds...no moving...just an ICEY stare-down in the middle of the ice! It was FREAKY! Then neither of them looked at or spoke to each other for the rest of the night or the next day up until they took the ice for the free skate. When they skated a beautiful program (which would have won them a gold had they not had the drop the night before) I guess all was forgiven, because she finally smiled after it was done and they were all hugs and tears.

But MAN WERE THEY BOTH SILENT AND P-O'ed!!

I loved how they were calling them the Italian soap opera! I couldn't believe all those drops the night before...I would be a wreck about doing some of those lifts they do.

If looks could kill..........he would have been dead. :rotfl:

Was it all his fault? :confused3 I guess she never makes mistakes.

Personally, I loved watching all the drama. I did however feel bad for Maurizio crying afterwards. Barbara truly made it all interesting to watch! Are these two a couple off the ice? If not, they seem like they have a love/hate relationship. I have a feeling she is probably a bit difficult to live with...:):)

I liked when the announcer was discussing it last night and made the comment about her having a young daughter and if this is the way she wants her daughter to see her when she grows up.

I think it was for publicity. If you can't be remembered by being on the podium, be remembered for something else. Think about it...I bet more of us remember the Italian's names and/or faces than remember the Ukranians who got bronze.

I was ready to go to bed until all of this drama started. I had to see what happened when they skated. :thumbsup2

I wanted him to drop her on her bottom.

I won't forget the Ukranian girl's costume. She looked like a stripper on ice. Too many stategically placed tassels for my taste. :rotfl2:

::yes::

I am glad they skated their free dance well. But I do wonder how much of their behavior was real emotion vs. drama queen stuff.

The stripper costume looked bad enough when they were competing. But she looked SO inappropriate on the podium, looking at her flag and all, with those tassels on her chest...like she'd just won the Stripper Olympics. I kept wondering what her nation's leaders and contrymen thought of her representing their country in that costume!

I agree, but that is just way too funny!

Does anyone watch Olympic Ice on USA? They had David and Jamie reenact the stare down - it was hilarious!

I liked that comment too. So rather than being disappointed she was angry and pouty and acted three years old. I am glad they skated well last night (for his sake at least) but just as glad they didn't medal.

Her behavior really made me think about the pairs skating couple from Russia that took gold a few nights ago. He had a horrible fall and dropped his partner face first into the ice (2004, I think) and he had a terrible time forgiving himself and the girl never blamed him at all. Accidents do happen and it is how we react to them that reflects our character.

The Italians have much to learn.

I thought it was all good, fun drama. Made the performance last night that much more memorable. Who didn't go "Awww" when she hugged/kissed him after they completed their ice dance?
:sunny:

I was hoping he'd drop her on that hot head of hers.

Nope, I didn't go "awww" when she hugged him. I thought it was very inappropriate and childish behavior all the way around. I'm very glad they didn't medal.

I thought she came across as a spoiled little self absorbed diva. If I were him I would have dropped her ON PURPOSE the second time around.

Imagine being her partner. :scared:

We were supplying the soundtrack for his thoughts as the program began:
"Get ready, missy, cause you're going DOWN!"
:lmao:
She was just plain scary!
