Our last week is normally the week before Memorial Day. Last year they had to add a week due to snow days, so about June 1st. Oh, and we don't get a week off in February, either.

you know what I would do, is take a pic down the side of the jars all in a row, so you get a bit of each jar. Maybe near a window so the light reflects on the food and the jars. Have the jar closest to you more to the back and each one pulled slightly forward and have a fan effect so you can see down the line. KWIM?

depends on the angle in which you are standing. Grover (DISer) took a pic of wine bottles in Germany (Epcot) once and I think the first bottle was in front. I could be mistaken though. I guess I would have to try it and let you know.

It is hard work, but it sure pays off in the middle of winter! Are you just starting your canning? I'm almost done w/mine. I did salsa today and will either do tomato juice or sauce tomorrow (we've been blessed with an abundant amount of tomatoes! green beans too). Just wish I had taken a picture of my 7' counter top when it had tomatoes covering it last week! I'll have to remember that one for next year...

My first canning was today! We did some green and wax beans. I started some beets (plain canned and pickled) and have some cucumber pickles to make as well. Our garden got started late, but it's not even corn time yet here.

Maybe we should do a canning/food preservation swap

Ours was started a bit late too- we went to WDW this summer and didn't want the produce to go bad while we were gone. I've done green beans, whole tomatoes, tomato juice, and salsa. Oh, and corn, but we froze that. A friend of mine gave us about 200 ears (maybe a little more than that- I didn't count them this year). Gave away 3 dozen, kept 18 to eat and we still had enough for about 45 meals! Her DH has several corn fields, so they plant a large patch of sweet corn. I usually do beets also (love pickled beets), but with the late start, I didn't bother this year.

I have to pick more tomatoes later and think I will do one more round of juice or sauce, then I'm done for the season. Now if I would happen upon some inexpensive fruit, I might change my mind...

OH, Kaddjr... I would have drove up to grab some pickled beets!!! I love sweet corn... I need to get some to freeze.... otherwise we live in town so we have no garden area..

You should see what I am attempting to piece now! I've decided printing out on the different color card stock, then cutting out is the best way to do these. But then I think it is a waste of paper, so I am using paint shop pro to break the pattern into layers, so each color is its own layer, and I don't have to reprint the whole image when I just want the eyes. It's actually going faster than I thought. So now I am on a paper piecing roll.
